DNHN - Global Sources, which launched its online platform GSOL in 1995, has decided to expand its footprint in Vietnam. The move is driven by the company's long-term commitment to building meaningful relationships and integrating into the country's economy.
Known as a trusted multi-channel B2B sourcing platform worldwide, Global Sources Online (GSOL) offers robust new features to connect verified buyers and suppliers globally. These include the intelligent use of big and complex data to provide accurate and relevant product recommendations tailored to buyers' preferences and consumption patterns, along with a ranking mechanism that surfaces high-demand products for faster and smarter decision-making.
In addition, advanced big data analytics which suggests suitable products, helps enhance user experience, enables quicker response, and minimises risks. Global Sources MATCH, powered by proprietary AI technology, allows buyers to create profiles, customise sourcing criteria, and connect with verified suppliers swiftly, overcoming geographical and language barriers.
Sourcing Knowledge Center provides insights into the latest market trends, export information, and sourcing know-how, including comprehensive online resources such as how-to guides, on-demand webinars, and advisory services. This feature increases accessibility and empowers users to confidently navigate the evolving market landscape.
Technology-enabled features like Ready to Order, Instant Chat with Translation, Exchange Business Cards, and Video Meeting services allow buyers to seamlessly connect with the most suitable suppliers, supported by GSOL's supplier verification system in place since its 1995 inception, with real-time tracking for greater efficiency.
Notably, powered by VR and 3D panoramic technology, the 360° Virtual Reality Showroom creates immersive virtual factory tours, enabling buyers to navigate factories with a 360° perspective and examine products in greater detail.
Mr Hu Wei, CEO of Global Sources, announced that in April 2024, the company will launch a Virtual Show on the GSOL website for the Global Sources Fair Vietnam.
In the long run, GSOL will continue to introduce tailored products and services aligned with Vietnam's business culture and market needs, such as 3D product model showrooms, allowing buyers to visualise products in different scenarios, such as a fashion item or furniture placed in a living room or bedroom, and more live streaming services for suppliers to showcase their products and receive instant inquiries and feedback from buyers.
Since 1995, Global Sources has been operating its online platform GSOL, facilitating global trade between buyers and suppliers. In 2021, Global Sources took a step forward by introducing dedicated content pages for Vietnamese manufacturers to highlight their offerings to the market.
In April 2023, with the successful launch of its first physical sourcing show in Vietnam, GSOL brought the O2O sourcing experience to all participating buyers and exhibitors, demonstrating Global Sources' commitment to the Vietnamese market. Spanning 8,800 square meters of exhibition space and showcasing over 5,000 export-ready products, the inaugural B2B sourcing show in Vietnam fully leveraged technology by integrating both onsite and online elements through the Onsite Live Tour, with live streaming services catering to overseas buyers unable to attend the event physically.
This approach facilitated effective business card exchanges, connecting suppliers with buyers more efficiently. The show hosted over 300 exhibitors from Vietnam, attracted more than 6,200 visitors from around the world, and featured over 10,000 Vietnamese suppliers in the Global Sources community.
"In 2024, we will organise two physical shows in April and November. Both physical shows will be integrated with Virtual Shows to support all global sourcing needs. These growing initiatives mark Global Sources' strategic expansion into a market with exponential growth potential. Additionally, GSOL will introduce more unique programs and activities for both buyers and suppliers, such as the Onsite Live Tour, which enables overseas buyers to instantly engage with exhibitors and their products," promised Mr Hu Wei.
The show is dedicated to international trade and focuses on business-to-business (B2B) connections, serving as a vital bridge connecting overseas buyers from over 200 countries and regions with leading suppliers, primarily from Vietnam and Asia, in the Home, Gift, and Fashion industries.
Remarkably, the scale of the show has doubled, featuring over 600 booths, a significant increase from 300+ in 2023.
The show will present specialised and innovative pavilions, including the ASEAN National Pavilion, the Packaging Pavilion, the Footwear Pavilion, and the Handicraft Village. Furthermore, the Virtual Show has been expanded to include two phases—Phase 1 is scheduled to go live pre-show in January 2024, followed by Phase 2, which will be streamed live during the show.
