Dong Thap Welcomes Delegations from Three Provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia for a Visit and Tet Celebration

DNHN - On January 25, in the spirit of traditional friendship and solidarity between Dong Thap and 03 provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia, delegations from Prey Veng, Banteay Meanchey, and Pursat province visited and celebrated Tet in Dong Thap province.
Mr Pham Thien Nghia - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee/Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee expressed his appreciation for the warm sentiments that the leaders of the 03 provinces of Prey Veng, Banteay Mencheay, and Pur-sat have for Dong Thap. He considered this a priceless spiritual gift that will last forever and serve as a bridge to strengthen the close, united, and friendly relationship for the common development of the two nations and the prosperity of Vietnam and Cambodia.
The Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee shared with the delegations from the 03 provinces that Dong Thap will continue to propose to the governments of the two countries to open the Thuong Phuoc International Road Border Gate, forming a pair of international road and river border gates, Thuong Phuoc - Coroca. At the same time, it is proposed that the two sides' border protection and management forces further enhance cooperation, share information, coordinate in combating and preventing all types of crime, and crack down on bad elements that jeopardise border security. It is necessary to create favourable conditions for people in the border areas to visit relatives, trade, and exchange goods increasingly conveniently.
Based on the achievements of Dong Thap Province in 2023, Mr Suon Somalin - Governor of Prey Veng Province, Mr Oum Reatrey - Governor/Chairman of the Banteay Mencheay Provincial Party Committee, and Mr Mok Ra - Chairman of the Pur-sat Provincial Council congratulated Dong Thap Province on its numerous accomplishments in the socio-economic field. They also affirmed their commitment to maintaining and developing solidarity, friendship, and cooperation in various fields between the provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Dong Thap Province.
In response to the enthusiasm and joining in the joyful atmosphere of the Lunar New Year, the Governors of the 03 provinces: Prey Veng, Banteay Mencheay, and Pur-sat wished the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, the People’s Council, the Provincial People’s Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap Province, the armed forces, and the people of Dong Thap Province a joyful Tet holiday. They also wished for the good relations between the two countries to be peaceful and sustainable forever.
