DNHN - The Spring Press Festival is an activity organised by the People’s Committee of Bien Hoa City in coordination with Dong Nai Newspaper, where more than 100 books and newspapers from central and local press agencies are displayed.
On January 31, at Bien Hung Park, the People’s Committee of Bien Hoa City solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Bien Hoa Spring Press Festival and the Meeting of Local Press Agencies, an important event on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024. The Spring Press Festival is an activity organised by the People’s Committee of Bien Hoa City in coordination with Dong Nai Newspaper, where more than 100 books and newspapers from central and local press agencies are displayed. This event aims to spread the culture of reading in the community and bring more flavour to the Tet atmosphere.
The Bien Hoa Spring Press Festival is also part of a series of activities to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024. This is an important occasion to introduce the socio-economic development situation of the country, Dong Nai province in general, and Bien Hoa City in particular. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Bien Hoa City, Huynh Tan Dat, shared the remarkable achievements that the city has achieved in 2023, with the close leadership and direction of the City Party Committee.
In 2023, Bien Hoa City overcame many difficulties and challenges to achieve and surpass 43/44 targets for socio-economic development, national defence, and security. Indicators such as total investment capital for social development, industrial and construction production value, and service revenue all achieved positive results, at a higher rate than the set plan.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bien Hoa City noted: “In the past, with their efforts and responsibility, the press agencies have organised extensive and vivid propaganda on the efforts to restore and develop the socio-economy of Bien Hoa City; promoted the image of Bien Hoa - Dong Nai as dynamic, creative, and integrated; actively disseminated information on Party building, and put the Party’s Resolutions into practice. The press agencies have fulfilled their functions and tasks in protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, guiding public opinion, and combating and refuting bad and toxic information. They have actively and strongly innovated in terms of both content and form, especially promoting digital transformation, building press agencies, press works, and media in a modern and multimedia direction… contributing to the successful implementation of the city’s goals and tasks.
Entering the new year of the Dragon 2024, the year of accelerating the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party and the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels. With new faith and momentum, to successfully implement the set goals and tasks, the role of press agencies, journalists, and reporters is extremely important. I believe that press agencies, journalists, and reporters will always accompany Bien Hoa City, closely follow the grassroots and practical life to have more press works that contribute to spreading good values, creating trust, and high consensus in society.”
Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bien Hoa City Nguyen Xuan Thanh also informed about the activities to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024, such as decorating flower streets, miniature landscapes at Nguyen Van Tri walking street, Bien Hoa Spring Festival - Tet for everyone, the spring market at Bien Hung Park, and many other cultural events.
In particular, the city has organised many exciting activities to commemorate the 325th anniversary of the formation and development of Bien Hoa-Dong Nai. Press agencies and journalists have made significant contributions to the achievements of Bien Hoa City, and the People’s Committee of Bien Hoa City has awarded certificates of merit to 24 collectives and 9 individuals with outstanding achievements in propaganda work.
