DNHN - The conference introducing the potential and unique products of An Giang province in Ho Chi Minh City is not just a simple investment promotion event, but also a bridge connecting businesses and investors with a land full of development potential.
On the morning of November 26th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the People's Committee of An Giang Province held a conference to introduce investment potential and promote the province's unique products. This event aimed to showcase An Giang's potential and competitive advantages, providing an opportunity for investors, businesses, and international organizations to learn about the province’s favorable policies and attractive investment environment. It also served as an occasion for stakeholders to meet, exchange ideas, call for participation, and focus resources to fully exploit the province's potential. With the goal of fostering cooperation and attracting investment, the conference was attended by leaders from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, economic experts, and representatives from over 200 businesses and investors. This was an opportunity for An Giang to showcase and introduce its superior advantages as well as unique products, such as clean agricultural products and handicrafts.
An Giang - Attractive Investment Potential
An Giang, strategically located in the Mekong Delta region, has significant development potential in areas such as high-tech agriculture, eco-tourism, and food processing industries. Particularly, the agricultural sector, with key products like rice and seafood, is emerging as a highlight attracting investor attention.
With favorable natural conditions and abundant resources, An Giang holds advantages in developing agricultural economics, tourism, agricultural product processing, and border trade.
Speaking at the opening session, Mr. Hồ Văn Mừng, Member of the Central Committee of the Party (Alternate), Chairman of An Giang's People's Committee, stated that this conference was an important forum to introduce An Giang’s potential, strengths, investment strategies, and preferential policies to other provinces and cities, businesses, and investors both domestically and internationally. The outcomes of today’s conference reaffirmed An Giang’s determination to approach investors and businesses in the most convenient, close, and efficient manner.
Through this conference, An Giang Province has become closer to central government agencies, investors, businesses, and financial institutions. The opinions and discussions from economic experts and businesses have opened up new directions in investment attraction activities, creating a diverse playing field that suits the needs of investors, businesses, and local authorities, promising a bright and sustainable future, with balanced benefits for all parties involved.
An Giang is in need of strategic investors, both domestic and international, and the business community to invest in and develop the province's key areas, including: infrastructure development for industrial zones, clusters, and economic zones at border gates; food processing industries and light industries; urban development and commercial housing; renewable energy and clean energy; trade, logistics services, and tourism; and the development of high-tech and large-scale agriculture.
Currently, An Giang has selected more than 60 potential projects to invite investment in these areas. Notably, during this conference, An Giang was pleased to sign 10 Memorandums of Understanding for investment surveys with 10 strategic investors from both domestic and international markets in key sectors of the province, aiming to realize the provincial master plan and implement investment procedures for project development.
Signature Products – The Pride of An Giang
An Giang is one of the largest rice-producing regions in Vietnam, famous for its high-quality, delicious rice varieties such as fragrant rice and specialty rice. An Giang rice is not only widely consumed domestically but is also exported to many countries around the world. Châu Đốc fish sauce is a traditional product with a long history and is considered a specialty of An Giang. With its rich flavor and meticulous production process, Châu Đốc fish sauce has become a famous brand, highly favored by consumers. The nipa palm tree is closely linked to the lives of An Giang people, and products made from nipa palm, such as nipa palm juice, palm sugar, and palm cakes, are highly popular. Particularly, An Giang’s palm sugar is known for its light sweetness and distinctive aroma. Additionally, Tân Châu silk is one of An Giang's prominent handicrafts, renowned for its durability, softness, and traditional colors, attracting both domestic and international consumers. When visiting An Giang, one cannot miss the specialty dried fish such as crispy pangasius and snakehead fish, which are traditionally processed and retain their natural, rich flavors. These products are not only symbols of the culture and pride of An Giang but also play a crucial role in the local economic development, promoting tourism and trade with other regions. At the conference, An Giang's signature products were widely displayed and introduced. From rice, Châu Đốc fish sauce, nipa palm products, to Tân Châu silk, they all showcase the province's unique brand and quality. These products are not only famous domestically but also have the potential for export to international markets.
Opinions from Experts, Delegates, and Businesses
At the conference, experts highlighted An Giang's rich natural resources, particularly in agriculture. Dr. Nguyễn Văn A, a sustainable agriculture expert, stated: "An Giang is not only the rice bowl of the country but also has great potential for developing high-tech agriculture and agricultural product processing for export."
Mr. Nguyễn Hoàng Minh, CEO of An Giang Vegetable and Fruit Processing Joint Stock Company (Antesco), shared his experiences in developing projects and investment directions in An Giang. He emphasized that An Giang is a promising land with many development opportunities, particularly in agriculture. After many years of operation, Antesco has been implementing projects to enhance the value of local agricultural products, while also boosting the processing and export of fruits to international markets. He pointed out that with its rich resources and favorable natural conditions, An Giang could further develop if it receives sustainable and appropriate investments.
In the future, Antesco plans to expand its production scale and apply advanced technologies to improve product quality, better meet market demands. Mr. Minh affirmed that investing in modern processing technology would not only strengthen competitiveness but also provide higher added value for An Giang's agricultural products. Moreover, the company is committed to working alongside the province to build a brand for its signature products, contributing to promoting An Giang’s image and potential worldwide.
A representative from ABC Group affirmed: "We recognize that An Giang not only has natural potential but also a young and dynamic workforce, which is a crucial factor for our long-term investment planning."
Mr. Lê Tuấn Anh, CEO of Sao Mai Group, shared: "We always emphasize the value of 'Developing for People' and are committed to delivering high-quality products and services that contribute to the sustainable development of the community and the national economy, accompanying the locality and leaving a positive impact wherever we go."
In An Giang, the Group has implemented several strategic projects, including the Sao Mai urban areas in Long Xuyên City, Châu Đốc City, Tịnh Biên Town, Tri Tôn, Châu Phú, and other localities, creating modern living spaces and improving the quality of life for residents. Tourism sites such as Trà Sư Mangrove Forest, Tức Dụp Hill, An Hảo Solar Power Plant, and Lâm Viên Núi Cấm not only create jobs and enhance living standards but also conserve and honor natural values, asserting the province's position on Vietnam's tourism map. Notably, the An Hảo Solar Power Plant, with a capacity of 210 MWp, provides clean and sustainable energy.

At the conference, information about An Giang’s potential, competitive advantages, and key projects for attracting investment were thoroughly introduced, alongside the province’s development plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, opening up opportunities for investors, businesses, and international organizations to explore the province’s mechanisms, policies, and investment environment. The leadership of An Giang also signed memorandums of understanding and investment cooperation agreements with strategic investors to implement several important projects, prioritizing investments according to the provincial development plan for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
The leaders of An Giang emphasized that they would create favorable conditions for investors to implement their projects. Additionally, the province committed to simplifying administrative procedures and applying preferential policies on taxes and land to encourage investment. Blessed by nature with two branches of the Tien and Hau rivers of the legendary Mekong River, as well as a network of canals covering more than 80% of the province’s agricultural land, An Giang enjoys abundant freshwater resources year-round and fertile alluvial soil. This makes it ideal for developing large-scale agricultural economies, applying science, technology, and modern production processes, positioning An Giang as one of the major agricultural hubs in the region according to the approved Regional and Provincial Development Plans.
