DNHN - According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (Business Registration Management Department), there are 73,500 registered businesses as of September 2023, a 700-business increase from August 2023.
According to a report from the Ministry of Information and Communications (TT-TT), the hardware and electronics industry recorded an estimated revenue of nearly 2,300,000,000,000,000 VND (approximately 95,800,000,000 USD) in the first nine months of 2023. It is estimated that the export value of hardware and electronic products will reach approximately 85,4 billion USD, accounting for approximately 31% of Vietnam's overall export value.
The General Department of Customs estimates that by the end of September 2023, the export value of computers and components will reach nearly 41.3 billion USD, down 4.2% from the same period in 2022, while the export value of phones and phone components will reach over 39.5 billion USD, down 8.7%. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the negative effects of the pandemic that followed COVID-19 have had a direct impact on Vietnam's export market for goods and services, particularly in the field of information and communications technology.

Nonetheless, the number of companies operating in the digital technology sector continues to rise steadily. According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (Business Registration Management Department), there are 73,500 registered businesses as of September 2023, a 700-business increase from August 2023. The estimated ratio of digital technology companies per 1,000 people is 0.739%.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications plans to carry out several important tasks including preparing a proposal to develop a Digital Technology Industry Law and completing documents to submit to the Government in November 2023. In addition, it is anticipated that the strategy for developing Vietnam's digital technology industry until 2025, with a vision for 2030, will be submitted to the Prime Minister.
