Responding to the press after the Prime Minister's business trip to attend the WEF Dalian Conference and work in China, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son evaluated the Prime Minister's business trip as a great success.
The Minister emphasized the significant marks made by the Prime Minister and the high-ranking delegation at the conference, and noted that the host country China and the conference organizers showed respect and high appreciation for Vietnam's role and position.
The WEF had continuously invited the Prime Minister to attend conferences in Tianjin, Davos (Switzerland) at the beginning of 2024, and this time the WEF in Dalian (China).
At this conference, the Prime Minister delivered a speech with important highlights and meaningful messages, sharing an inspiring story about Vietnam's innovation, integration, and development. The speech emphasized outstanding socio-economic achievements, reaffirming Vietnam's role and position on the international stage. The Prime Minister also proposed building and strengthening trust, advocating dialogue with a new global cooperation approach and mindset.
The Prime Minister emphasized promoting science and innovation to create new growth drivers through institutional and policy building; taking advantage of resources and international cooperation, while focusing on training future human resources.
The Prime Minister also openly exchanged with the business community, demonstrating Vietnam's spirit of innovation and high determination in transforming its growth model, creating a favorable environment for investors.
WEF Founder and Executive Chairman, Klaus Schwab, praised Vietnam as a dynamic economy, a beacon of economic development, and a growth leader in the region.
The Prime Minister's sharing was highly appreciated by the business community, as evidenced by their excitement, interest, and desire to invest and do business in Vietnam, especially in new fields.
Providing information about the meetings and working sessions in China, the Minister noted that the activities were very successful, achieving the set requirements and goals.
This outcome is evident in four aspects: maintaining regular high-level strategic exchanges between the two Parties and countries; consolidating and enhancing political trust between the two sides; playing an important guiding role in the development of bilateral relations; and strengthening the "Two Corridors, One Belt" connection.
Based on a comprehensive assessment of cooperation in recent times, the two sides discussed and agreed on specific directions and measures to promote cooperation in the coming time.
Both sides affirmed the importance of effectively implementing the Vietnam-China Joint Statements achieved during the visits of the two General Secretaries of the two Parties.
Both sides agreed to strengthen the connection between the "Two Corridors, One Belt" framework and the "Belt and Road" initiative, especially in transport infrastructure; speeding up the border railway connection and promoting cooperation in developing several standard-gauge railway lines in northern Vietnam.
Both sides also emphasized promoting trade cooperation, especially in agricultural products; exchanging measures to improve customs clearance efficiency, upgrading border gate infrastructure, and studying to promote the construction of smart border gates and border economic cooperation zones.
Both sides coordinated to resolve issues in some cooperation projects, speeding up the implementation of China's non-refundable aid to Vietnam.
Both sides promoted high-quality Chinese investment in Vietnam, particularly in areas such as transport infrastructure construction, green economy, digital economy, renewable energy, and clean energy.
Both sides increased cooperation in sustainable tourism and training high-quality human resources, expanding cooperation in the fields of healthcare, education, science and technology, finance - banking...
The achieved results have consolidated a solid social foundation for the development of bilateral relations. Both sides agreed to regard this as a "systematic project" to promote friendly relations and maintain a peaceful, stable environment.
