DNHN - After more than nine months of preparation, the Minister of Industry and Trade signed a decision recognizing 190 enterprises with a total of 359 products achieving the Vietnam National Brand for 2024.
On October 28, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a press conference to introduce and provide information about the announcement ceremony for products awarded the Vietnam National Brand (VNB) in 2024. This marks the ninth time the program has been held, with the goal of building and promoting national brands through representative products.
The Vietnam National Brand program is one of the government's unique, long-term trade promotion initiatives aimed at encouraging enterprises to pursue core values: Quality, Innovation, and Pioneering Capacity. Participation in the program provides companies an opportunity to comprehensively evaluate their production, business activities, and brand-building strategies through a specific set of criteria. As a result, enterprises are encouraged to develop by sharing and following core values, while enhancing their credibility and competitiveness in the international market.
After more than 20 years of development, the Vietnam National Brand program has achieved remarkable milestones, gaining attention from businesses, regulators, and consumers both domestically and internationally. Not only does it honor outstanding Vietnamese brands, but it also helps affirm Vietnam’s position on the international trade map with high-quality, competitively strong products and services.
Despite challenges in 2024 due to global geopolitical instability, this year’s selection round attracted over 1,000 enterprises from various sectors. To boost the program's effectiveness, the Secretariat deployed extensive media activities, from digital channels to collaborations with traditional press agencies, helping to widely spread information and draw broad enterprise participation. Information circulars were also sent to provincial People's Committees, Departments of Industry and Trade, and trade associations to increase information coverage.
The organizing committee conducted rigorous and scientific screening and evaluation of applications. The applications were then submitted to an expert committee for appraisal based on the criteria specified in Decision No. 30/2019/QĐ-TTg dated October 8, 2019, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade's guiding circulars. This criteria system is based on InterBrand's brand valuation methodology and criteria from the United States National Quality Award.
After more than nine months of efforts, on October 21, 2024, the Minister of Industry and Trade signed a decision recognizing 190 enterprises with a total of 359 products achieving the VNB 2024. Compared to 2022, this year saw the addition of 18 enterprises, demonstrating the program's appeal and its influence in promoting exports, developing the domestic market, and building the Vietnamese brand.
With the theme "Reaching into the Green Era," this year's announcement ceremony carries a message of blending economic development with sustainability, reflecting a commitment to elevate Vietnamese brands toward green development and readiness for global integration.
