DNHN - In October 2024, Vietnam's oldest nutritional porridge brand, Cay Thi, officially hit the shelves of Asian markets in more than 37 states across the United States.
The Cay Thi porridge brand, with over 27 years of serving Vietnamese consumers, made a significant milestone by announcing the export of its products to the U.S. market. This historical milestone not only puts fresh porridge products made in Vietnam on the international food map but also marks a major step forward in the global journey of Vietnamese cuisine.
Journey from a domestic product to conquering the international market
Founded in 1998, Cay Thi is the oldest nutritional porridge brand in Vietnam owned by Anh Kim Food Production Joint Stock Company (AK FOOD). Cay Thi porridge was one of the pioneers in Vietnam that focused on nutritional food products, catering to the needs of quick, convenient, yet nutritious meals for the people.
The journey to conquer the international market for Cay Thi started with establishing a firm foothold in the domestic market. As of September 2024, Cay Thi products are available throughout Vietnam via four distribution channels, with over 200 sales points in the Cay Thi nutritional porridge franchise chain. Present in all modern supermarket systems, Mother & Baby stores in modern chains such as Bach Hoa Xanh, Con Cung, Coop, Aeon, etc. Partnered with more than 150 national distribution agents within traditional distribution channels. Participated in e-commerce platform distribution through the online channel.
Besides expanding the distribution channels, Cay Thi continuously focuses on improving existing product quality and researching the launch of new products to diversify its business lines, such as nutritional porridge, fresh porridge, instant porridge, nutritional soups, braised black chicken, meatballs in sauce, etc. Cay Thi quickly became a familiar name, especially for families with young children, busy individuals, and senior citizens.
Cay Thi fresh porridge successfully exported to the United States
The United States is a market with strict and demanding food inspection standards, especially for packaged and instant food products. To achieve official export certification, Cay Thi porridge had to meet stringent FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) standards on food safety, ingredient standards, production processes, and packaging.
The expert team from Cay Thi made necessary changes, improved formulas, and even adjusted production technology to ensure the product meets international standards. The quality monitoring process for Cay Thi porridge exported to the United States is rigorously carried out from the input materials to the final product. Each product must undergo stringent testing to ensure no errors.
What makes Cay Thi porridge stand out in the international market is the combination of traditional Vietnamese flavors and the convenience of instant porridge. Each pack of porridge is made from premium ST25 rice and natural ingredients with regional specialties that bring a rich and familiar taste.
Cay Thi porridge is officially exported to the United States with three main products that highlight regional specialties such as Nghe An eel fresh porridge, Western snakehead fish fresh porridge, and Dalat vegetable fresh porridge. The product is not only aimed at the Vietnamese community in the U.S. but also targets international consumers who love Asian cuisine and want to experience traditional Vietnamese dishes.
A representative from Cay Thi shared: "We want to bring the taste of Vietnamese family to Vietnamese people far from home and international friends. Not just a fast food, Cay Thi porridge also focuses on nutrition and consumer health, embodying the love of Vietnamese cuisine and traditional values."
Development potential
The successful export to the United States opens up numerous opportunities for Cay Thi to expand its market to other countries in the Americas and Europe. In the future, Cay Thi plans to expand its product lines to suit international tastes while developing more products associated with Vietnamese family meals.
A representative from the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade also appreciated Cây Thị's effort in expanding its international market: "Exporting instant porridge to the United States not only enhances the national brand but also contributes to promoting the development of the Vietnamese food processing industry in the international market."
Cay Thi porridge officially exported to the United States not only brings pride to the brand but also confirms the potential and quality of Vietnamese products in the international market. This is an important milestone not only for Cay Thi but also opens up opportunities for other Vietnamese businesses to expand globally, contributing to promoting Vietnamese culture and cuisine to international friends.
