Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Ky stated at the opening of the conference that Quang Ninh province implements the policy of sustainable and inclusive tourism development on the basis that green growth is a requirement. encompassing all policies, strategies, and planning. Make tourism a spearhead economic sector closely integrated with industry, services, agriculture, and marine economic development, vigorously promoting the growth of other industries and fields, and making a significant contribution to tourism's growth. For economic growth, job creation, and the improvement of people's quality of life, particularly in rural, mountainous, border, and island regions. From now until 2030, focus on consolidating its position as a national tourist locomotive, an international tourism hub, attracting tourists all year round, from all over the world, and transforming into a "can't-miss" destination. when visiting Vietnam...
At the conference, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that Quang Ninh has a special position on the tourist map of Vietnam.
According to Minister Nguyen Van Hung, to continue to awaken the great potential of Quang Ninh tourism, the province needs to consider and agree on the principle of "Do not trade off cultural and natural resources for economic growth." Simple".
Quang Ninh also needs to build and position its brand, and identity and answer the question "Why should tourists come to Quang Ninh?".
In addition, consider launching the movement "All people unite to create a safe and welcoming tourism environment in Quang Ninh"; develop new and unique products and refresh the traditional products of the province; and develop high-quality human resources equipped with skills and knowledge in tourism and digital technology.
Focus on surveying, researching, and evaluating the market after the Covid-19 pandemic to quickly grasp new tourism needs and preferences, and develop appropriate strategies to attract visitors from international markets, regardless of the traditional market.
Developing cultural industries in which the province has advantages (cultural tourism, photography, etc.) continues to promote the province's capacity to mobilize resources for socialization, public-private cooperation to invest in entertainment and entertainment systems modern decor, etc.
Within the framework of the conference, representatives of ministries, departments, branches, central agencies, experts, speakers on tourism and embassies of some Asian and Southeast Asian countries, corporations, and domestic and international tourism businesses discussed enhancing the quality, diversifying tourism products, attracting cruise tourists to Quang Ninh, and luring Korean and Chinese tourists.
According to Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of the Institute for Tourism Development Research, Quang Ninh has new opportunities for socio-economic development, marine economy, and tourism development. To fully restore the province's tourism activities by 2024, at least 25,4 million tourists, including at least 8,6 million international tourists, will be welcomed by 2030, and the average annual growth rate of tourists will reach 10 to 11%. With a direct contribution of approximately 15% to GRDP, Quang Ninh becomes a leading tourist destination and international tourism hub. At the same time, it must be more sensitive to catching up with development trends and new tourism needs promptly, making significant efforts to implement solutions for recovery and development simultaneously. Tourism in the province is based on the principles of green growth and circular economy, to achieve sustainable development.
Do Nam Trung, the Consul General of Vietnam in Nanning (China), stated that the tourism cooperation between Quang Ninh and China converges on many favorable factors in terms of climate, terrain, and social harmony. Since March 15, when China opened its doors to tourism via the international border gate of Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dong Hung (China), Vietnam Nam in general, and Quang Ninh, in particular, have a strong desire to travel. Quang Ninh is the only place that can be reached by both land and water. Human harmony is a tradition of close interactions between the two sides populations.
However, to provide tourists with satisfying experiences, it is necessary to pay close attention to the fundamental needs of Chinese tourists in Quang Ninh. First, Chinese tourists prefer crowded, bustling seaside areas where it is easy to purchase snacks and goods. Consequently, sea excursions and resorts are frequently their top priority. In addition, they enjoy sightseeing tours and discovering heritages and landmarks. Second, Chinese tourists prefer to travel in large groups, eating is their top priority when traveling, and Chinese people enjoy eating Chinese food; therefore, we must strengthen restaurants specializing in Chinese cuisine. Thirdly, experience has shown that Chinese guests rarely use English, so hotels and restaurants must hire more Chinese-speaking employees. Quang Ninh must promote its image and develop more alluring products to become a must-visit destination for Chinese tourists.
As the diplomatic agency representing Vietnam abroad, we are prepared to coordinate with relevant ministries, branches, and localities, including Quang Ninh, to develop a strategy and promote Vietnamese goods. specific products, suited to the market's preferences, and promotional activities. In 2023, it is anticipated that we will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to organize a tourist roadshow in Guangxi as well as numerous other practical activities.
During the conference, relevant units also signed an Agreement on tourism development cooperation between Quang Ninh province and other provinces and cities; an agreement on tourism development cooperation between Quang Ninh Provincial Tourism Association and tourism associations of provinces; and a cooperation agreement on digital transformation in the tourism industry between Quang Ninh Department of Tourism and Tourism Information Center, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism
