DNHN - On the morning of September 1, a delegation of Hanoi’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee was led by Party Secretary Bui Thi Minh Hoai.
The delegation visited the exhibition Hanoi 2025 – Space of Tradition and Creativity at the Vietnam National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh District.
Joining the delegation were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Director of the Hanoi Police Department; along with members of the Standing Committee, senior leaders of the city’s People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front, and various departments and organizations.
Taking place amid the pride and emotion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), the Hanoi 2025 – Space of Tradition and Creativity unfolded like an epic, weaving together past, present, and future.
The tour through six thematic spaces offered a deeply emotional experience. In the section Hanoi’s Highlights, leaders and visitors admired exquisite traditional handicrafts: Thiết Ứng woodcarving, Chuyên Mỹ mother-of-pearl inlay, Ngũ Xã bronze casting, Vạn Phúc silk, and Trạch Xá ao dai.

Each artifact was more than a crafted object—it embodied the soul of artisans who have safeguarded and revitalized Hanoi’s identity over centuries. At Essence of Craft Streets, artisans performed live demonstrations of traditional trades—Bát Tràng ceramics, Quất Động embroidery, Phú Vinh bamboo weaving, and goldsmithing—rekindling the spirit of ancient craft quarters and evoking nostalgia for the sacred “Old Hanoi.”
If the past stirred pride, then the Pioneering Vietnamese Technology space symbolized the capital’s forward-looking ambition. Here, Secretary Hoai and city leaders spent time engaging with innovative businesses. One Hanoi-based firm drew attention with its multi-sector digital transformation platform powered by AI and “digital twin” technology. “To serve our nation on this 80-year journey of independence is a profound honor,” said Lai Thien Phong, Chairman of Nam Hanoi Construction & Geodesy Co., Ltd. “It compels us to innovate relentlessly, to ensure technology truly addresses national challenges with the most advanced, optimized solutions.”

Meanwhile, iHanoi—a digital citizen application developed by Viettel Solutions—was showcased as a hallmark of smart governance, enabling every resident to become a node in the city’s intelligent, citizen-centric network. Equally striking was the display of civic-service robots, AI-powered assistants already piloted in local government offices. Among them, Robot Model H2, now in operation at the Cửa Nam Administrative Center, has streamlined paperwork, eased workloads for officials, and elevated citizen services with small yet meaningful touches—serving water, offering towels—signaling Hanoi’s determination to build a digital government that places people at its heart.
Beyond technology, the space Hanoi’s Gifts captured visitors with the aroma of cốm from Vòng village, Ước Lễ sausages, Tây Hồ lotus tea, Phú Thượng sticky rice, and traditional candies and preserved fruits. These delicacies, elevated into cultural icons, conveyed affection for the capital.
Meanwhile, Cultural Roots and Village within the City reimagined heritage landmarks and art forms: the legend of Saint Gióng, the Opera House, Ô Quan Chưởng gate, bonsai gardens, ca trù, chèo, and xẩm singing. These reaffirmed that Hanoi not only preserves its roots but also reinterprets them, keeping heritage vibrant within modern life.

During the visit, Party Secretary Hoai personally presented gifts to distinguished artisans such as Vu Manh Hai, Pham Thi Hanh, Phan Thi Thuan, Phung Van Hoan, and Bui Trong Lang. Their golden hands, long celebrated as cultural treasures, were honored in a tribute that underscored her message: “Tradition is the sacred flame that fuels creativity, the foundation for Hanoi to stride confidently into a radiant future.”

From Vòng’s green rice and Vạn Phúc silk, to scaled models of the One-Pillar Pagoda and Vietnam record-certified masterpieces; from AI-driven digital twins and civic-service robots to LocaAI’s multilingual assistants and the iHanoi app—all together portrayed a resilient, cultured, and innovative capital, ready to accompany the nation in the new era.
Speaking before artisans, entrepreneurs, and citizens, Secretary Hoai expressed heartfelt pride: “We are profoundly proud that today’s Hanoi not only preserves the legacy of our forebears but also pioneers in innovation.”
The tour concluded at Chu Quyen communal house, where ca trù, tuồng, and xẩm performances, alongside ao dai displays and lotus tea, immersed leaders in the essence of ancient Đoài. The experience left a shared realization: today’s Hanoi is asserting its position with a fresh identity—rich in heritage, proud in creativity, and aspiring to global reach.
Hanoi 2025 – Space of Tradition and Creativity conveyed a sacred message from the thousand-year-old capital: trust in the power of the past, cherish the present, and together shape the future.
The exhibition not only showcased national achievements with professional organizations but also affirmed the stance of the Hanoi Party Committee: tradition is the root, the launchpad for creativity, empowering the capital to stride confidently into a modern, cultured era. The full presence of senior leadership underscored the Party and State’s special attention, sending a powerful message: Hanoi remains the heart, the trust, and the anchor of the nation on its path of integration and development.
