DNHN - Cross-border e-commerce allows Vietnamese businesses to access large international markets with huge potential consumer bases. Participation in cross-border e-commerce opens up new opportunities to expand business scale and increase sales.
Participating in cross-border e-commerce opens up opportunities to expand business scale and increase sales. Enterprises can reach millions of potential customers globally, far beyond their traditional scope.
Specifically, cross-border e-commerce not only helps businesses reach customers but also creates conditions for them to access global suppliers and partners. Connecting with international suppliers and partners helps businesses seize new cooperation opportunities, improve product quality, and expand their supply network.

Hence, cross-border e-commerce helps reduce shipping and delivery costs compared to traditional methods. Businesses can leverage existing e-commerce platforms to optimize shipping processes and reduce delivery times. This increases the competitiveness of enterprises in the international market and creates favorable conditions for developing new business models.
Participating in cross-border e-commerce gives Vietnamese businesses the opportunity to build and enhance their trust and reputation in the international market. Reviews and feedback from international customers can help determine the quality of a business's products and services. Building a reliable and reputable image in e-commerce can help Vietnamese businesses attract and retain international customers.
Cross-border e-commerce provides opportunities to enhance the export activities of Vietnamese businesses. Accessing international markets through e-commerce platforms helps businesses reach international customers and expand their export scope. Additionally, e-commerce creates a new competitive environment, pushing Vietnamese businesses to improve the quality of their products and services to compete in the international market. This translates to enhanced competitiveness and improved capabilities of enterprises.
E-commerce is becoming increasingly popular and preferred by consumers globally. By participating in this trend, Vietnamese businesses have the opportunity to leverage the advantages of technology and the internet to develop their businesses. Applying new technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and better user experiences also helps businesses enhance efficiency and growth.
Participation in cross-border e-commerce not only brings economic benefits but also creates opportunities to enhance the reputation and development of Vietnamese enterprises in the international market. For an export-oriented economy like Vietnam, cross-border e-commerce plays a crucial role in expanding market access, boosting exports, and promoting sustainable development of businesses.
Recently, various mechanisms and policies supporting e-commerce activities have been significantly improved and widely implemented. The Project on Managing E-commerce Activities for Export and Import Goods has introduced management solutions such as enhancing the legal framework, building databases, and transaction management policies. Particularly, on June 22, 2023, during the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly, the amended Law on Electronic Transactions was passed and will take effect from July 1, 2024. This amendment expands the scope of application, focusing on the legal value of electronic signatures, electronic authentication, and electronic transactions, contributing to administrative reform and cost savings for citizens and businesses.
Additionally, the initiative "Cross-border E-commerce: A Breakthrough Era" proposed by Amazon and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade aims to develop a cross-border e-commerce workforce for 10,000 businesses in Vietnam from 2022 to 2026. Through over 20 diverse courses covering cross-border e-commerce, market research, brand registration and protection, young businesses and professionals will be trained, contributing to the strong and effective development of Vietnam's cross-border e-commerce activities.
