Foreign E-commerce businesses pay over 2,000 billion VND in tax in the first two months of the year

DNHN - In the first two months of this year, the total tax paid by foreign suppliers was 2,030 billion VND. This includes contributions from leading global technology companies such as Meta (Facebook), Microsoft, Google, Apple, TikTok, etc.
In the first two months of this year, the General Department of Taxation announced the state budget revenue situation, with a particular focus on the E-commerce sector. Accordingly, 84 foreign suppliers have registered and been granted tax codes through the electronic portal for foreign suppliers. Of these, 67 foreign suppliers have declared and paid taxes following legal regulations.
In the first two months of this year, the total tax paid by foreign suppliers was 2,030 billion VND. This includes contributions from leading global technology companies such as Meta (Facebook), Microsoft, Google, Apple, TikTok, etc.

Compared to the end of 2023, foreign suppliers registering and being granted tax codes have increased by 10 units. In 2023, the total tax paid by foreign suppliers was 8,096 billion VND.
The General Department of Taxation has operated the electronic portal for foreign suppliers since the beginning of March 2022.
The General Department of Taxation has committed to continuing to implement tax management solutions for E-commerce and digital platform businesses resolutely and effectively, as well as focusing on combating revenue loss following the 2024 work programme. This is to ensure fairness and transparency in state budget revenue collection and to maintain tax revenue from E-commerce activities.
