DNHN - Against the solemn backdrop of the Chancery courtyard, the national flag of Pakistan slowly ascended to the stirring notes of the national anthem, officially marking the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan.
Organized by the Embassy of Pakistan, the event gathered members of the diplomatic corps, the Pakistani community residing in Vietnam, and distinguished Vietnamese guests from various ministries, sectors, businesses, and cultural institutions.

The ceremony began with the flag hoisting and was followed by two minutes of silence to honor the forefathers who devoted their lives to the country's independence and to express a collective commitment to unity for Pakistan’s shared future.

Congratulatory messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read aloud, underlining the enduring values of patriotism, aspiration for progress, and Pakistan’s role in the international community.
In his address, Ambassador Kohdayar Marri, Ambassador of Pakistan to Vietnam, stated:
“With a renewed commitment to peace through diplomacy, we achieve what war can never deliver: lasting peace, stability, and justice. When there is unity, peace, and discipline, the nation becomes stronger, and we pave the way for a brighter future for our children.”
The Ambassador also highlighted the deepening friendship and sustainable cooperation between Pakistan and Vietnam, noting that the strategic partnership holds immense potential for growth across political, economic, educational, cultural, and tourism sectors.

Following the formal proceedings, guests joined in a ceremonial cake-cutting, savored traditional Pakistani cuisine, and engaged in warm and lively conversations. The green and white of the national flag blended with the colors of flowers, friendly handshakes, and laughter, creating a vivid image of a flourishing bilateral relationship.
Ambassador Marri has been widely recognized by the diplomatic and business communities in Vietnam for his active role in fostering engagement and promoting impactful diplomacy. His initiatives, ranging from trade promotion and cultural exchange to community outreach, have contributed significantly to strengthening ties between Pakistan and Vietnam.

The Public Diplomacy Division of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated:
“The Independence Day celebration is not only a moment to honor the country’s historic journey but also an occasion to highlight the power of people-to-people diplomacy where national pride harmonizes with a shared vision of peace, stability, and sustainable development.”
The ceremony reaffirmed the growing friendship between the two nations and underscored the vital role of dialogue, cooperation, and diplomacy in shaping a peaceful global future.
