DNHN - With the strengthening of the information and technology application in customs statistics, Vietnam is assessed as one of the four top countries in ASEAN on import and export statistics.
According to the General Department of Customs, so far, 100% of customs statistics operations from collection, process, analysis and reporting to dissemination have applied IT.

With the achieved results in the 2016 – 2020 period, the customs statistics agency is assessed as the leading statistics agency in the statistical system of ministries and agencies.
In addition, the role and position of Vietnam customs statistics in ASEAN have been increasingly improved and assessed as one of the top four countries in ASEAN in terms of import and export statistics.
State statistics on customs in general and statistics on exports and imports in particular is one of the main tasks of the Customs sector. Over the years, information on the import and export of goods collected and provided by the Customs sector has made a great contribution to policy-making and serving the administration and macro-management of the economy.
Currently, the export and import activities of Vietnam are increasingly receiving the attention of many domestic and foreign organizations and individuals.
For the purpose of providing the latest and most updated statistics on exported and imported goods, the General Department of Customs has periodically posted statistical information on import and export goods on the Portal of the General Department of Customs.
Specifically, information on international merchandise trade performance and major import and export products is publicized on a quarterly basis (15 days) and monthly; major export and import products between Vietnam and Vietnam's major trading partners on a monthly basis; assessment and analysis of import and export movements in the month and from the beginning of the year to the reporting month; and articles on topics related to the export and import of goods of public concern.
