DNHN - Vietnam Online Television Technology Corporation (TVO) and the production team are currently scripting and collaborating with businessman Nguyen Chu Sam to produce the film "Nguyen Chu Sam - From Kim Thieu Craft Village to Ha Tien Land".

The film tells the story of Chu Sam, a young artisan born and raised in Kinh Bac. Nguyen Chu Sam never imagined he would one day consider Ha Tien, a land far south, as his second home. In a heartfelt conversation, Chu Sam shared that his journey to Ha Tien is a long story of his turbulent life.

Kim Thieu Village is one of the oldest wood carving villages in Bac Ninh province. According to local lore, King Ly Nhan Tong (1072-1128) heard about the wood carving skills of Kim Thieu villagers during his inspection of the Lang Giang area (Lý era) and selected craftsmen to create wooden royal items.

Thanks to his talent and intelligence, Nguyen Chu Sam received a skill certificate from the province (then Ha Bac) at the age of 13. By the age of 14, his wood carving skills were already advanced. Noticing his talent, a major entrepreneur from Ho Chi Minh City, Hoang Anh, hired him at the age of 16 to oversee a woodworking facility with over 100 workers in District 12, offering a salary of $1,000 per month.

However, after a year, Chu Sam returned to his hometown. In 1992, while continuing his education, he also trained workers in wood carving at Doc Van Construction College in Hanoi. He even opened a workshop at home, training up to 360 students.

Trade is the lifeblood of Bac Ninh people, known for their dynamism, skillful trading, and wide connections. Throughout his studies and teaching, Chu Sam constantly pondered how to elevate the value of Kim Thieu's craft products. In 1994, he opened a large workshop in Ho Chi Minh City with over 200 workers. His workshop thrived thanks to his skills and business acumen, primarily exporting to Taiwan, selling hundreds of furniture sets each month.

Despite his initial intention to only do business in Ha Tien, the land eventually captivated him. Even during turbulent times that almost left him empty-handed, the resolve of a Kinh Bac man remained unshaken.

Today, with his smart and flexible mind, Chu Sam not only thrives in the wood industry but has also expanded into other sectors, such as transporting people and goods to islands. He was the first in Ha Tien to buy a ship to transport people to Phu Quoc and later to Pirate Island, reducing waterway transport costs on this route.

Chu Sam's success is attributed not only to his skills and agility but also to his sincerity and goodwill. His affable, sincere, and generous nature has earned him the trust and love of the local business community and friends.

Discussing the film, Mr. Huynh Le Vinh Phat, Director of TVO, shared, "As a filmmaker, I am always drawn to life stories with profound humanity and broad appeal. Businessman Nguyen Chu Sam embodies all the elements for a captivating film. His journey from resounding success to bitter failures and back is bound to create an engaging narrative for viewers."

The film is expected to offer viewers a different perspective on an entrepreneur rising from hardship, learning tough business lessons along the way.
