DNHN - EVN has been operating clean energy and lighting systems across Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and nearby DK1 platform since August 2017.

This forms part of the state-run group’s efforts to expand the power supply and boost socio-economic development in rural, mountainous and island areas.
Truong Sa archipelago consists of many islands and islets spanning across a vast area of water, making it very challenging for the island district to gain access to electricity.
Despite this, under the direction of the Government, EVN has been making all possible efforts to keep the clean power and lighting systems on the islands running in a bid to improve the islanders’ living standards and reinforce the country’s defence capacity so as to safeguard its sovereignty over the sea and islands.
The company has carried out regular maintenance and repair to the islands’ power network to ensure interrupted power supply.
It has also presented gifts to people and soldiers stationed on the islands and raised donations for the charitable fund named “Supporting Truong Sa”.
By the end of 2021, EVN has invested thousands of billions of VND to ensure adequate power supply for 11 island districts nationwide, including Van Don, Co To (Quang Ninh), Cat Hai (Hai Phong), Ly Son (Quang Ngai), Phu Quy (Binh Thuan), Con Dao (Ba Ria-Vung Tau), Phu Quoc, Kien Hai (Kien Giang), Con Co (Quang Tri), and Truong Sa (Khanh Hoa).
