DNHN - Da Nang has established a Steering Committee for Logistics Industry Development to optimize the implementation of the project "Developing Da Nang logistics services to connect effectively with the Central Key Economic Region and the East-West Economy

Da Nang City issued Decision No. 1971/QD-UBND to establish this Steering Committee. Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, will take on the role of Head of the Committee.
According to the Decision, the Logistics Development Steering Committee is responsible for providing advice and support to the City People's Committee in coordinating activities related to logistics development. The Board will also participate in planning and implementing logistics activities according to the Prime Minister's instructions.
In addition, the Steering Committee is also responsible for advising on the effective implementation of the project "Developing Da Nang logistics services to effectively connect with the Central Key Economic Region and the East-West Economic Corridor for the period 2021 - 2030, vision 2050."
This decision also authorizes the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City to act as the standing agency of the Steering Committee. This Department will take the lead in presiding and coordinating with relevant agencies, organizations, and units to help the Steering Committee synthesize, evaluate, and report on the situation and implementation results.
Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang City approved the city's logistics infrastructure development plan until 2030, with a vision to 2045. This plan is based on taking advantage of the city's resources and advantages. to turn Da Nang into a key logistics service center of the Central Key Economic Region, as well as the main gateway to the sea of the East-West economic corridor of the country.
According to this plan, Da Nang City has set specific goals. By 2020, logistics centers in Da Nang need to handle about 25% of logistics processing traffic for goods through seaports, increasing to 30% in 2025, 35% in 2030, and 55% in 2045. For goods passing through airports, the corresponding rates are 10%, 15%, 20%, and 40%. For goods via rail, the rate is 20% in 2030 and 40% in 2045.
It is expected that the total investment capital needed for logistics service development in Da Nang is 13,695 billion VND, and the total land area needed to implement logistics infrastructure development planning until 2045 is about 312 hectares.
Investment capital sources for logistics centers will come from investment calls from the City People's Committee, as well as from local budget sources to improve road traffic connections and intersections in the local territory. Railway investment projects to connect Lien Chieu port with the new Kim Lien cargo station, as well as centrally run road routes, will use capital from central sources. Danang City People's Committee also announced a list of 10 logistics centers to call for investment, including 1 regional center, 8 provincial centers, and 1 specialized aviation center.
Specifically, Lien Chieu Port logistics center will be a regional, class I logistics center, with an expected scale of 30-35 hectares by 2030 and increasing to 65-70 hectares by 2050. This center will provide seaport services, container yards, bonded warehouses, and CFS warehouses.
Next, the Da Nang International Airport Logistics Center is planned to be a specialized aviation logistics center with an expected scale of 4-5 hectares by 2030 and expanded to 8-10 hectares by 2050. This center will focus on providing logistics services for air cargo.
In addition, there are eight provincial logistics centers including Kim Lien Freight Station, Da Nang Hi-Tech Park, and other logistics and warehouse centers (located on highway bypasses and in industrial zones and clusters). ), along with 5 logistics centers in 5 other localities: Hoa Nhon, Hoa Phuoc, Hoa Phu, Hoa Ninh, and Hoa Hiep Bac.
