DNHN - Shortly, the multidisciplinary Dutch business delegation will participate in the Event Series Connecting International Suppliers - Vietnam International Sourcing 2023.
According to information from the Vietnam Trade Office in the Netherlands, a group of purchasing businesses from a variety of industries will travel to Vietnam shortly to find partners at the Vietnam International Sourcing 2023 Event Series from September 13-15 in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh.
It is anticipated that the delegation will include representatives of several corporations, distributors, retailers, and trading companies with branches in the European region that are headquartered in the Netherlands.
Imports of Asian food products (dry, frozen goods), ceramics, cooking utensils, and dining tables are the primary purchasing areas of these businesses. The delegation will include businesses from the Dutch seafood association, importers and distributors of outdoor furniture, as well as logistics-focused businesses.
In addition, the delegation included companies engaged in e-commerce and trading in all processed and non-food agricultural products from Vietnam. This company's B2B e-commerce platform has more than 20 products from Vietnam that meet EU standards for environmental friendliness and sustainability. The Dutch supermarket system, shops, and restaurants rely on and order from this platform.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Trade Office system will connect, organize, and participate in several international business delegations shortly. Through promotional activities in the host country to create a ripple effect on importers, distribution channels, and foreign business associations, this event has recorded the participation of more than 60 deals/branches of the Vietnam Trade Office, making it a first of its kind.
Through conferences, seminars, trade connection activities, and the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2023, the Dutch business delegation hopes to find more reputable purchasing partners from Vietnam and collect more useful information about Vietnamese goods to diversify their distribution system's sources of goods for the local market. During the series of events, these businesses planned to conduct surveys, collaborate with suppliers, and observe factories' production processes.
According to the Vietnam Trade Office in the Netherlands, since the COVID-19 pandemic, consumption trends in the Netherlands have undergone significant changes, most notably the rise in online shopping, particularly for apparel, footwear, interior and exterior decorations, and household consumer goods.
This trend has existed for a long time in the Netherlands, but the most significant change occurred during the pandemic period and continues to be sustained today due to many conveniences, such as a 30-day return and exchange policy, a very diverse and richer online system of goods in comparison to stores and shopping malls. Alongside this, the practice of working from home at least two days per week is gaining popularity among state agencies and businesses. This trend results in increased food consumption at home as opposed to restaurants and eateries.
In addition, the trend of consumption from quantity to "extreme" is gaining popularity not only in the Netherlands, where healthy food products, reusable packaging, and environmental friendliness are top selection criteria. This trend has a direct impact on input materials, production processes, compliance requirements for manufacturers, and the circulation of goods.
