DNHN - The Ministry of Transport has just made a formal request to the Directorate of Roads of Vietnam and the Vietnam Expressway Development Investment Corporation (VEC) to execute the Prime Minister's directive on automated toll collection.
"VEC develops a detailed implementation strategy and assigns specific tasks to each interested collective and individual during the implementation process in order to take appropriate action if the timetable is delayed." The findings and monthly execution plan will be summarized and reported to the Prime Minister by the Ministry of Transport, as requested by the Ministry of Transport.
The Ministry of Transport also proposed that the Vietnam Directorate of Roads and ETC service providers collaborate and help VEC in the implementation process, ensuring that the entire system is synchronized, standardized, and connected.

During the implementation process, the Ministry of Transport affirmed that agencies and units take implementation seriously and bear responsibility in front of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Transport.
Previously, the Government Office had written to the Ministry of Transport, the Committee for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises, and the Investment Corporation to relay Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh's directive. The Vietnam Expressway Development Investment Corporation (VEC) is hastening the deployment of a non-stop electronic toll collection system at highway projects overseen by VEC.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh requested that units be completed on time in accordance with the direction of the government and the National Assembly; take measures to handle the responsibility of the individuals and groups involved if the above schedule is delayed; and report the results of the implementation to the Prime Minister by June 30, 2022.
According to the Ministry of Transport, VEC is currently assigned as the investor to build, manage, operate, and exploit five highway projects, including the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh expressway, the Noi Bai-Lao Cai expressway, the Da Nang-Quang Ngai expressway, the Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway, and the City expressway (Long Thanh-Dau Giay-Ho Chi Minh City).
According to the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry has reported that the Prime Minister has authorized a plan to use the present VEC toll collection management charges (one-stop toll collection) to hire a car based on VEC's proposal.
The Prime Minister also directed that the ETC charge-collecting service package be completed in the first quarter of 2022. However, because of the unique nature of the method of engaging ETC toll services at VEC-managed expressway projects, there are differing views on how legal requirements should be applied.
VEC has arranged the implementation in the form of a lease in order to accelerate development under the Prime Minister's direction, enhance investment efficiency, and quickly build and manage the system to satisfy societal demands. service providers, as in the case of employing information technology services with state Han Chau
