Novels writing contest - depicting new Vietnamese values era

DNHN - The organizers anticipate that the competing novels will depict elements that contribute to the construction of a model and a standard value system for the Vietnamese in the new era.
Implement the Resolution of the Thirteenth National Party Congress, and continue to implement Resolution 33/NQ-TW of the Party Central Committee regarding the development of the Vietnamese culture and people to meet the needs of development. The Literature and Art Times, under the Vietnam Union of Literary and Art Associations, organized the first novel writing competition for the period 2023-2025.
The contest is a practical activity for commemorating the 50th anniversary of national reunification (30 April 1975 - 30 April 2025), the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (21 June 1925 - 21 June 2025), and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (2 September 1945 - 2 September 2025).
Through the implementation of the novel-writing contest, particularly in the context of the country's numerous historical and cultural events. With the intention that the contest will spread throughout the world of writers and artists, it will serve as a signal for new opportunities and inspiration as the nation enters a period of many new opportunities.
The organizers hope to "show" valuable, high-quality novels that accurately and vividly depict the reality of the construction and defense of the Fatherland, as well as the images of the poor. contribute to the development of a model, a value system, and standards for the Vietnamese in the new era.
Head of the Competition Organising Committee Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hong Quan - Secretary of the Party Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literary and Art Associations - praised the initiative of the Times of Literature and Art in launching the contest on novel composition, particularly in the context of numerous historical and cultural events of the country.
According to the contest's organizers, the competition is designed to attract a large number of domestic and international participants by emphasizing frugality, practicality, efficiency, demonstrating professionalism, seriousness, scientific rigor, and objectivity.
Participants include Vietnamese citizens, Vietnamese living abroad, and foreigners in Vietnam, regardless of age or profession. The author is responsible for the legality of intellectual property and copyright.
Contest submissions must be submitted between December 10, 2022, and the end of March 1, 2025. The requirements stipulate that the workers must not have participated in or won prizes from other competitions. The Organising Committee will receive works directly in the form of printed books, paper manuscripts printed on A4-sized paper, or electronic manuscript files.
Entries must be sent to the editorial office of the Times of Literature and Art, Building A, 1st floor, Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts, No. 32 Hao Nam, Dong Da, Hanoi, with the following information included: Information about the author (Full name, pseudonym, current title, work unit, phone number, Email, contact information); An overview of the work; The complete manuscript of the work.
Prizes for the contest are expected to be announced on April 28, 2025, with one grand prize, two-second prizes, three third prizes, and five consolation prizes. However, depending on the specific circumstances, the organizers can adjust the award level and mobilize organizations and individuals to award prizes by subject to encourage the improvement of work quality.
Through the competition, the organizers also hope to arouse the patriotism and social responsibility of artists, literature, and art enthusiasts to inspire them to produce valuable literary and artistic works that satisfy the audience's desires. The need of the Party, the State, and the people to appreciate literature and art. Contributing to the growth of the country's literature by discovering and encouraging writers, particularly young writers.
