DNHN - The Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province announced on June 29 that the province's exports of agricultural products and other items are increasing steadily due to high global demand and China's lifting of the zero COVID policy.

The province's export turnover is projected to reach 420 million USD in the first six months of 2023, achieving 61.67 percent of the plan and matching the same period in 2022.
Among them, coffee is a key export item with a production of 165,000 tonnes and a revenue of 338 million USD. Other products, including processed fruits, latex rubber, and supplies, also experienced comparable growth compared to the same period in the previous year.

Notably, the price of coffee has risen dramatically, ranging from $2,300 to $2,400 per tonne, an increase of more than 10% compared to the same period in 2022, which has contributed to the increase in the export value of the commodity. the primary force.
The province of Gia Lai is projected to have a six-month export turnover of approximately 260 million USD, with an export target of 680 million USD in 2023, up 3.03% from 2022.
According to the Gia Lai Department of Industry and Trade, consumer demand on the global market is rising, particularly during the winter holidays and New Year's Eve in certain EU, US, and other nations. Thus, exports to these markets have increased.
Many agricultural products, including bananas, passion fruit, durian, bird's nest, and sweet potatoes, have been officially exported since the removal of China's zero COVID policy in February 2023.
Based on positive developments in the export market for agricultural products and other commodities, the province of Gia Lai is optimistic and anticipates continued expansion in 2023, thereby promoting the local economy and agricultural development.
