In addition to increasing the frequency of existing routes, Vietnamese airlines operate several new routes, including Can Tho-Van Don and Hanoi-Ca Mau.
The international air transport market is continuing to maintain recovery momentum for most traditional markets (except China and Russia) and the presence of several new markets in Central Asia. Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan are examples.
In addition, Vietnamese Airlines expanded their flight operations to India and Australia.
There are currently 64 foreign airlines and 5 Vietnamese airlines exploiting the international market with over 169 international routes connecting 28 countries and territories in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa to Vietnam's destinations including Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, and Hue. Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, and India are among the ten international markets from which Vietnam receives the greatest number of international passengers.

Cargo output through airports decreased by 15.3% to 887.5 thousand tonnes. The amount of goods transported internationally decreased by 24% to reach 637 thousand tonnes, while the amount of goods transported domestically increased by 19.5% to reach 250.4 thousand tonnes.
