DNHN - The total number of apartments in these five projects is 3400, with a total investment of approximately US$72 million. In addition, Hoa Binh Construction Group has also been shortlisted for two other social housing projects in Kenya.
On 19 February, Hoa Binh Construction Group announced that it had officially received the bid award for five social housing projects in Kenya from the country’s Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development.
These social housing projects are being implemented to serve the police, military and students of the Technical University of Kenya. Hoa Binh Construction Group will act as the general contractor for the design and construction of these housing complexes and accompanying infrastructure. The units receiving the project include the Embakasi Integrated Service Unit Training School, the Ruiru Police Headquarters, the Buruburu Integrated Service Unit Training School Headquarters, the Kiganjo National Police Training School and the Technical University of Kenya.

The total number of apartments in these five projects is 3,400, with a total investment of approximately US$72 million. In addition, Hoa Binh Construction Group has also been shortlisted for two other social housing projects in Kenya, after passing the prequalification round for contractors’ reputation and capacity.
If these two additional projects are awarded, the total number of apartments is expected to be 6,200 with a total value of approximately US$91.6 million. This would bring the total value of Hoa Binh’s social housing construction contracts in Kenya to US$163.6 million.
Sharing about the development plan in Africa, Mr Le Viet Hai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Binh Construction Group, said that Africa is considered the largest and most potential construction market in the world in the coming years. At the same time, he also announced that the Group will focus on the segment of bidding for the construction of social housing projects, before expanding to higher-end projects.
Previously, the Group’s leadership representatives conducted a survey and worked in Kenya.
