Earlier, the Minister of Transport proposed the formation of a Working Group to develop a North-South high-speed railway investment project. This working group will be responsible for directing the process of developing investment policy proposals and providing the government and the National Assembly with reliable reports.
The Steering Committee will collaborate with the State Appraisal Council and international experts to ensure the objectivity and independence of the research procedure. Simultaneously, the Board will also consult the experiences of nations with established high-speed rail systems, such as Europe and China.
The North-South high-speed rail project was initiated in 2019 and is currently undergoing a feasibility study. This project aims to construct a 350km/h double-track electrified using distributed dynamics technology. In addition, the project proposes the construction of passenger and cargo stations along the route to increase people's flexibility and convenience.
The decision to establish a steering committee for high-speed rail research and investment is a crucial step in advancing the nation's transport infrastructure. It is anticipated that research and implementation of national railway projects will significantly contribute to the improvement of connectivity and socioeconomic growth.
