DNHN - State-owned economic group VNPT, which specialises in information technology and telecommunications, has assisted and accompanied Can Tho City in the implementation of "Building Can Tho City to Develop into an Urban Area", with a focus on 2030.
By Resolution No. 02-NQ/TU dated August 4 2021, of the Can Tho City Party Committee on the digital transformation of the Can Tho City to 2025 oriented to 2030. By the Can Tho City People's Committee's Plan No. 241/KH-UBND dated November 30, 2021, which outlines the digital transformation of the city until 2025 with a focus on 2030, and by the Can Tho City People's Committee's Decision No. 1652/QD-UBND dated August 2, 2021, which outlines the project to transform the city into a smart urban area by 2030, VNPT has been supporting the transformation of Can Tho city into a civilised urban area by 2030.
VNPT Can Tho, an associated division of VNPT Group, specialises in information technology (IT) and telecommunications. In recent years, it has collaborated with Party agencies, departments, branches, and authorities at all levels within Can Tho City to provide services and support. VNPT Can Tho aspires to establish itself as an investment partner in the development of telecommunications networks and the provision of digital government service solution groups; state agency professional solution groups; and city agency security storage solutions groups.
VNPT Can Tho is particularly prepared to invest in technology for smart cities on account of its vast network infrastructure, powerful resources, and available experience. Simultaneously, it can meet the Can Tho City government's criteria and capacity requirements for selecting partners to construct a smart city in the region by implementing cutting-edge technology to enhance capacity. Enhancing urban management capabilities, optimising the utilisation of urban infrastructure, addressing pressing urban challenges, elevating the standard of living for residents, and fostering robust economic growth are all integral components of the city's society.
VNPT, previously a traditional telecommunications service provider undergoing a transition to become a digital service provider, is well aware that the digital transformation journey will be fraught with numerous obstacles. Addressing the challenges at hand necessitates the collaboration and synergy of the entire business community and government, from the highest-ranking official to every employee. The indispensable support of local Party committees, cells, and unions is also required by corporations, governments, and enterprises.
It has achieved numerous successes and actively participated in the nation's Digital Transformation initiatives across all three pillars—Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Society—as a leading national technology corporation. VNPT has implemented digital transformation solutions in fifteen ministries, 63 provinces, and cities. VNPT has been an active and crucial participant in numerous successful national projects, including a national population database; a national reporting system connecting information with 80 ministries, branches, localities, corporations, and state-owned enterprises; and over 500 online reporting information targets for the national reporting system. Concurrently, it offers numerous real estate solutions to the nation's largest corporations and corporations and maintains a comprehensive information technology team. VNPT desires to collaborate with Can Tho businesses and authorities in their pursuit of the future, while also contributing to the promotion and augmentation of the city's DTI index.

The facility is now prepared to host the city's public applications.
VNPT has implemented novel technological platforms for Can Tho City, including big data analysis, artificial intelligence platforms, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Specifically, VNPT has integrated the following platforms into the city's public applications: Data Sharing Connection Axis (LGSP), Smart Analysis Platform (BI), Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Interaction (Smartbot), and others.
About applications of digital transformation: Implementation of the "Smart Tourism" system on behalf of the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Department, Application of switchboards to reflect ideas Resolution 1022, Application of Farmers' Market for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Application of paperless meeting rooms for the City People's Committee Office, etc.
To provide leaders with the most comprehensive data for monitoring, directing, and decision-making regarding operations, VNPT has collaborated with the District People's Committees and City People's Committees to construct and test the intelligent Operation Centre. Currently, four IOC Centres have been coordinated by VNPT: one in the city and three in the districts. VNPT Can Tho collaborated with the Department of Education and Training on November 22, 2023, to inaugurate the Intelligent Education Operating Centre (IOC EDU).
VNPT, which is committed to joining forces and assisting the government, businesses, and citizens of Can Tho city in their transformation, has deployed a team of human resources throughout the city, with nearly one hundred IT engineers based in the area to support digital and intelligent urban development.
VNPT Can Tho pledges to support the city in its digital transformation endeavours across the three fundamental pillars—Digital Economy, Digital Government, and Digital Society—by further implementing the subsequent systems: a reporting and operating information system for the City People's Committee; a digital meeting room system for the City People's Council; and a digital economy, society, and reporting information system. VNPT Can Tho also establishes a minimum of two IOC Centres at the district level, with a particular emphasis on establishing two specialised smart operating centres and assists in the development of a shared database for district People's Committees.
