Binh Thuan: Businesses still face difficulties in applying the circular economic model

DNHN - Binh Thuan, a coastal province, is pioneering the application of the circular economic model (CEM) to promote sustainable development and protect the environment.

With 9 Industrial Parks (IPs) approved by the Government, with a total area of up to 3,048 ha, Binh Thuan not only focuses on expanding the scale of the industry but also aims to create a closed, efficient production system.

Businesses need to pay attention to CEM to not only bring benefits to the community
Businesses need to pay attention to CEM to not only bring benefits to the community.

By the end of 2023, Binh Thuan had witnessed the participation of 88 secondary businesses in 5 of its IPs, with 66 projects having been put into operation. This development has not only contributed to economic growth but also opened up opportunities for the deployment of the CEM.

Some pioneering businesses have begun to transfer industrial waste from businesses to other units, turning it into production materials, thereby minimising the amount of waste and optimising the use of resources. However, the CEM is still not popular and there is a lack of symbiosis between businesses in the same IP.

For the CEM to be most effective, more research and investment are needed to remove current difficulties and obstacles. This includes facilitating cooperation between businesses, as well as building appropriate infrastructure to support the recycling and reuse of materials.

Binh Thuan is facing a great opportunity to become a typical model of CEM in Vietnam, contributing to the goal of developing an industry that is not only rapid but also sustainable and environmentally friendly.
