DNHN - The VSIP Group officially launched the VSIP Can Tho project in Vinh Trinh commune, Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city on September 9, 2023.
This is the country's thirteenth Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) and the first in the Mekong Delta.

The launching ceremony is a continuation of the online groundbreaking ceremony of VSIP Can Tho, which took place in Hanoi on August 29, presided over by the prime ministers of Vietnam and Singapore.
The planned size of the VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park is 900 hectares. It is anticipated that, once completed, it will employ 100,000 people and attract $3.5 billion. Phase 1 encompasses 293.7 hectares and will immediately employ 20,000 to 30,000 individuals. The project is situated at the strategic intersection of the vertical and horizontal highways of the Mekong Delta, bordering three provinces: Dong Thap, An Giang, and Hau Giang, and is conveniently connected to the port system, airport, and city center utility services.

The city possesses a comprehensive infrastructure system, including Can Tho International Airport, a waterway network, and a large port, as well as an inner-city transport system and highways connecting neighboring cities. As a centrally administered city, Can Tho is expected to approve its socio-economic development plan for 2021 to 2030, to become the Mekong Delta's commercial and service hub by 2030. Can Tho possess all of the elements necessary to promote the growth of seafood and agriculture, as well as its position as a major food processing and distribution center?
The infrastructure development plans of the government are implemented by the new master plan. Specifically, the highway infrastructure development plan will significantly reduce travel times between Can Tho and Tan Son Nhat Airport, as well as Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria Vung Tau's major seaports. The new Chau Doc-Soc Trang motorway connecting Mekong Delta provinces and Cambodia is also being constructed.

VSIP Can Tho will be constructed according to the model of a smart and sustainable industrial park. VSIP Can Tho intends to become a major food processing and distribution hub in the southern region by establishing a "center-to-port" logistics network and supporting infrastructure to meet investors' supply chain requirements. VSIP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 12 investors for land lease and business cooperation as part of the launching ceremony.

VSIP Group is a joint venture between Vietnam's Becamex IDC Corporation and Singapore's Sembcorp Development. VSIP Group is currently participating in the development of 17 industrial, urban, and service parks across Vietnam, with the launch of VSIP Can Tho. From the first VSIP in Binh Duong, the VSIP Group's total land holdings have grown to more than 11,000 hectares. VSIP provides infrastructure for production to 880 clients in 30 countries and territories, with a total investment capital of $18 million. 7 billion US dollars and the creation of nearly 300,000 direct and millions of indirect jobs.
