DNHN - VinAI, which was founded in 2019, has immediately placed Vietnam on the map of the world's greatest AI research institutions with a succession of amazing works and accomplishments.
New York-based venture capital company Thundermark Capital, which specializes in investing in Deep Tech, has officially released the Global AI Research Ranking 2022.
Vietnam continues to retain an exceptional position (26th) in this "golden table" with a total research score of 5 and is one of just two Southeast Asian nations to rank among the top 30 in the world for AI research (the other representative is Singapore).
In the area of the Top 100 worldwide firms excelling in AI research, according to Thundermark Capital's list, Vietnam's VinAI - a subsidiary of Vingroup - reached the top 20 for the first time.
Vietnam's only representation placed just behind NEC (Japan - 19th), Bosch (Germany - 21st), and several other well-known companies such as ByteDance (China - 23rd), SenseTime (China - 27th), and Naver (South Korea - 32nd) (Korea - 28th).
Utilizing a huge database of the world's most famous conferences and seminars in the area of Artificial Intelligence, Thundermark Capital's rating is well regarded for its dependability and authority.

Each of the 3,523 approved papers at ICML (1,184 works) and NeurIPS were appraised by Thundermark Capital (2,339 works). All of these are regarded as "Oscars in AI and machine learning" even though just 20 per cent of research gets accepted annually. Thundermark Capital "scores" each nation, organization, and corporation based on the proportion of contributions in each research.
Notably, Vietnam's research score in Thundermark Capital's 2022 rating is 5, with VinAI contributing 4.5 points. VinAI is regarded as the key to elevating Vietnam from the "low-lying" area of the globe to 26th place in the world, given that 90 per cent of Vietnam's AI research is acknowledged globally.
Despite being founded in 2019, VinAI made an impression by swiftly placing Vietnam on the map of the world's biggest AI research institutions.
With 94 initiatives revealed at the world's preeminent AI conferences and seminars, a Vingroup subsidiary also reaffirms its leadership position.
Specifically, the number of publications published at four "Big4" conferences on AI, CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML and ICLR, is 14, 12, 11 and 11, respectively - equivalent to several prominent technology companies such as Salesforce, Apple, Google...
With substantial assistance from Vingroup, VinAI was able to acquire the most powerful supercomputer system in the area, DGX SuperPOD, enabling the "new star" in the AI business to make quick research advances.
Superior research at VinAI focuses on three primary areas: Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing, to develop creative solutions that have a direct and extensive influence on the lives of people not just in Vietnam, but worldwide.
VinAI offers three primary product lines based on this foundation: Smart Mobility for smart automobiles, Smart Data to facilitate the development of artificial intelligence technologies, and Smart Edge for visual data analysis.
In record time, the business has successfully deployed 360-degree panoramic view (SVM) on Vietnam's first electric car VinFast VF e34 and finished the training in the area of autonomous vehicles. The version of the driver monitoring system uses artificial intelligence with specific characteristics.
VinAI also develops Smart Edge product lines with smart camera AI solutions and gadgets, hence enhancing the client experience. These product lines are already extensively used in major metropolitan areas by Vinhomes - real estate developers. Vietnam's biggest. In the meanwhile, the Smart Data product line is also highly valued by foreign clients.
