Vietnam Has 3 Cities as the Most Attractive Destinations in the World at the Start of the Year

DNHN - Agoda Data published a list of locations where Vietnamese people celebrated the early New Year's festivities following the 2024 New Year's holiday.
After the 2024 New Year holidays, data from Agoda announced a list of places where Vietnamese people chose to relax during the holiday.
In the domestic market, Ho Chi Minh City tops the list of popular destinations, surpassing long-time favourites such as Vung Tau and Da Lat. In the domestic aviation sector, the three major cities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang, have surpassed famous coastal tourist cities such as Phu Quoc and Nha Trang, becoming the top 3 favourite destinations for domestic flights.

Agoda appreciates the tourists’ fondness for domestic accommodation, including Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, Da Lat, Hanoi and Da Nang.
For Vietnamese people planning to travel internationally, Bangkok and Seoul are the top destinations for both flights and accommodation. Taipei and Singapore are also in the top 3 for hotel bookings and flight bookings.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the special feature of this year’s Lunar New Year holiday is that many localities have successfully tested and introduced night tourism products. These tourism products are imbued with the cultural characteristics of the ethnic groups and create impressive highlights during the holiday.
During the 3-day holiday from 30/12/2023 to 1/1/2024, it is estimated that the whole country served about 3.2 million tourist arrivals, an increase of 6.6% over the same period in 2023. The average room occupancy rate at tourist accommodation establishments reached about 50%, with some tourist centres recording higher occupancy rates, reaching about 70%.
In particular, Ho Chi Minh City is expected to welcome about 46,528 international visitors, an increase of 86.1% over the same period in 2023.
