DNHN - Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Chairman of MiennamPetro, was trusted to become the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Young Businessmen Association (YBA). This time, he was interviewed by a reporter for Business & Integration Magazine.
You were trusted to take on the role of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association for the 2023–2026 period, and it is known that you just got a Certificate of Merit from the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. Would you kindly tell us a little bit about how you are feeling right now?
Mr. Tam Nguyen Minh: Any businessman would be extremely happy to be named Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association. But this is also a fresh challenge and a new chapter in my life.
We intend to make a greater contribution to the growth and prosperity of local companies generally and Ho Chi Minh City specifically through exchanging, sharing, supporting, and generating possibilities.
Could you please provide information regarding MiennamPetro's orientation and expectations as a member of the upcoming Executive Board term?
Mr. Tam Nguyen Minh: Our priorities as members of the new Executive Board are to Invest in research and development, Expand and consolidate the market, and Improve the quality of our products. These are the three main objectives that every company strives to meet. As a result, we anticipate growing into a business with a recognised, reliable, and prestigious position in the chemical and lubricant industries.
MiennamPetro aspires to provide value for consumers, shareholders, and the community while also supporting the industry's sustainable growth. Establishing favourable conditions for distribution channels is essential to the growth and profitability of small enterprises.
Can you tell us more about this issue shortly, as a relatively new company prepared to embrace new business trends, particularly AI applications in business and production management?
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam: MiennamPetro is prepared to use artificial intelligence (AI) in production and business management with intention. It is nonetheless, nevertheless, subject to impartial human oversight and assessment. AI's precision and effectiveness are undeniable. However, we put our flexibility first here.
Usually, while gathering data on our clients, we don't just make checklists for them to tick off; that kind of data is meaningless. However, if we visit every dealer (particularly in the petrochemical sector), I will be aware of the emotions or issues clients are having and can then provide suitable answers. Then, it's time for artificial intelligence to maximise production and management, etc.
To put it briefly, I am open to and prepared to embrace new business trends, such as the use of AI in business and production management. To achieve commercial success and sustainability, we must properly plan for and carry out the implementation of this technology.
It is well known that MiennamPetro not only dominated the Vietnamese industry but also grew into nearby areas like Malaysia and Cambodia, exporting to Japan and Myanmar. Could you please elaborate on your experiences, benefits, and challenges in capturing those markets as well as MiennamPetro's future intentions to capture any more markets?
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam: MiennamPetro is confident in expanding into new markets, including Malaysia and Cambodia, thanks to its production line, 100% imported raw materials (from countries such as the Netherlands, Singapore, USA, Belgium, Germany, etc.), and a comprehensive, varied mixing and filling system that complies with API standards set by the American Petroleum Institute.
Thank you, sir!
