DNHN - The chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just allocated units to analyze long-term development orientations in the area surrounding Tan Son Nhat airport.

The Office of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just sent a document to the Department of Planning and Architecture, as well as the People's Committees of Tan Binh, Go Vap, and Tan Phu districts, to convey to the Chairman of the City People's Committee's direction on the orientation of urban development planning.
As a result, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City charged the Department of Planning and Architecture with chairing and coordinating with the People's Committees of districts and relevant departments to study the results of the symposium "Orientation for planning and urban management at the local level" method associated with the International Airport Urban Model - Pilot application for Tan Son Nhat airport area, to consider long-term development orientation. Drafting and evaluating the Ho Chi Minh City General Planning Adjustment Project to 2040, with a vision for 2060.
Tan Binh, Go Vap, and Tan Phu districts were designated by the chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to research urban development alternatives around the airport as part of the process of arranging the general adjustment of zoning planning projects in the district. Simultaneously, conduct research and propose models of commercial and service growth in the district in line with the existing socio-economic development condition to restore local economic development following the Covid-19 epidemic.
Previously, the goal was to determine the notion of local urban planning orientation connected with the construction of an urban model of Tan Son Nhat international airport, especially to investigate the Tan Binh district and other areas.
The Department of Planning and Architecture collaborated with the People's Committee of Tan Binh District to host a symposium on "Orientation for planning and urban management at the local level connected with the Model of the National Airport Urban Region" in the area close to the airport. Around 40 delegates and visitors attended the seminar, including experts, scientists, associations, universities, research institutions, business leaders, and District People's Committee officials.
