Tien Giang: Improving the quality of OCOP goods to better serve customers

DNHN - The People's Committee of Tien Giang province has focused local capabilities to concentrate on OCOP goods in recent years, resulting in the following achievements: Many local OCOP items with regional and regional features received 3 to 4 stars, indicating that people trust the products created by manufacturing facilities and enterprises.
Tien Giang province has made tremendous accomplishments in recent years, including 119 OCOP items, comprising 75 4-star products and 44 3-star products, with 36 participants, including 8 cooperatives (cooperatives), 22 firms, and 6 business homes.
According to Mr Vo Van Lap, Director of Tien Giang Province's Rural Development Sub-Department, the goods have been substantively and objectively reviewed and categorized by the Provincial Council based on the set of criteria provided by Prime Minister's Decision No. Decree 1048/QD-TTg.

Following OCOP certification at the provincial level, authorities continue to assist subjects in bringing OCOP products to market. The unit promotes OCOP goods through trade promotion by updating and upgrading the OCOP Tien Giang Product Manual. Simultaneously, market OCOP goods in Tien Giang province through fairs, trade promotion forums both inside and outside the province, and industrial-trade shows around the country.

Many Tien Giang province regional and regional-specific items are now being marketed by distribution and retail units such as Vietnam BigC, and Bach Hoa Xanh, and have signed contracts to sell in big numbers after attaining the provincial OCOP.
Product sales in the year of the assessed and rated product groups grew compared to the previous year, product competitiveness improved, market circulation is increasing, and subjects are extremely exciting.
Tri Son Co., Ltd. (My Tho City) has also made several unique gift baskets from OCOP items to present to high-end consumers, as well as partnered with the University of Food Industry (HCMC) to increase the value of OCOP products to fulfil export demand.
Tri Son Co., Ltd now offers 40 items, 18 of which have been certified with 4-star OCOP, and has 49 distributors spread throughout provinces and cities, reaching monthly sales of more than 3 billion VND.
