Mr. Keisuke Kobayashi, Deputy Chief Representative of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) in Vietnam, Mr. Aguin Toru, Chief Representative of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) in Vietnam, and Mr. Le Ngoc Lam, General Director of BIDV, all attended the conference. The conference was also attended by speakers, unit heads, and 200 Japanese businesses operating in Vietnam...
At the conference, experts and businesses shared and discussed the global economic situation and its impact on Vietnam; the Vietnam Government's current business support policies; and Vietnam's strong commitments to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, to reach net zero emissions by 2050. The conference also discussed the contents of the coordination mechanism of JBIC and BIDV in providing sustainable financial solutions for businesses. From there, businesses can consider appropriate directions to adapt to the movement of the economy; and work together to promote a green and sustainable economy in Vietnam and the rest of the world. Alongside the Conference, BIDV and thirteen Japanese banks organized one hundred and ten networking sessions for Japanese attendees.
Mr. Le Ngoc Lam, General Director of BIDV, emphasized during his address at the Conference, "To accompany and support Japanese investors in Vietnam, BIDV strives to coordinate with Japanese partner banks to provide banking products and services of high quality and competitive prices. In addition, BIDV is always willing to assist clients in locating information about the business investment environment in Vietnam; organize and participate in tourism, trade, and investment promotion activities between the two countries; and connect Vietnamese and Japanese companies... Globally, sustainable development has made green finance a clear and prominent direction. Recognizing this, BIDV is committed to creating the most favorable conditions and is prepared to serve as an effective bridge between management agencies, domestic and international financial institutions, and businesses; thereby creating opportunities for cooperation in green growth, environmental protection, and climate change response and contributing to the development of a sustainable financial ecosystem in Vietnam."
As the oldest financial institution in Vietnam, BIDV is always conscious of its role and responsibility in contributing to the growth of the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan. BIDV has pioneered the establishment of a specialized department serving Japanese business customers (abbreviated as Japandesk) since 2013 in recognition of the significance of Japanese businesses as business partners. After a decade of implementation, the quantity and quality of Japanese customers at BIDV have grown steadily. With a staff well-versed in the Japanese language and culture, BIDV constantly strives to perfect its specialized and adaptable products and services to meet the needs of each customer to the greatest extent possible.
To date, BIDV has signed cooperation agreements with 33 Japanese regional banks; 11 officials have been dispatched from partner banks to work at BIDV to coordinate and comprehensively provide effective and sustainable financial solutions to serve Japanese customers in Vietnam.
