Product Program at Hoa Binh Enterprise using OCOP

DNHN - After four years of executing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, Hoa Binh province has 100 items certified to fulfil provincial OCOP requirements by August 2022, with 22 products receiving four stars and 78 receiving three stars.
The OCOP initiative has aided the community, particularly companies, in maintaining and developing traditional items from the province. Hoa Binh has developed clean agricultural producing regions under the OCOP Program, utilizing advanced technology related to the product value chain.
Some OCOP products from Hoa Binh have been present in supermarkets and Hanoi markets, such as Cao Phong oranges, Viba Luong son bananas, Lac Thuy cantaloupe, Tan Lac red grapefruit, Lac Thuy curry chicken, Lac Son fresh chicken, queen melon... some OCOP products have been exported to the world market, such as Son Thuy longan, Song Boi tea, purple sugar cane, Lac Thuy dried OCOP Hoa Binh goods have established their reputation in both domestic and international markets.
Mr Tran Van Thu, Deputy Director of Song Boi Thang Long Two-member Limited Liability Company, stated that tea plants have been planted on Song Boi land since the 1960s, but Song Boi tea products were only eaten in Hoa Binh province and a few nearby provinces at the time. In recent years, the Company has planted a new tea variety LDP1. In addition to the tea land controlled by the Company, the Company also works with families in the communes of Phu Thanh, Dong Tam, and Phu Nghia to cultivate tea.

The cooperative's mission, according to Ms Vu Thi Le Thuy, Director of 3T Cao Phong Agricultural Cooperative, is "to sustain and improve the Cao Phong orange brand." The cooperative's primary product is "Premium gift oranges" made by VietGAP requirements. Cao Phong Agricultural Cooperative 3T's high-class gift orange goods reached the 3-star OCOP standard at the provincial level in 2019 and will be upgraded to 4-star in 2020.
To keep the 4-star OCOP product brand, the cooperative constantly follows the agricultural process according to VietGAP guidelines. Muong Pa black pig, a product of the Muong Pa black pig agricultural cooperative in Bao La commune (Mai Chau), has received a three-star OCOP rating. This is a significant step forward for the cooperative and the 147 satellite houses in the communes of Bao La, Xam Khoe, and Cun Pheo. Mr Ha The Nhien, Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Muong Pa Cooperative, stated that before the establishment of the cooperative, black pigs from families were solely consumed in the district's markets, with little economic value and production.

Farmers' farming techniques have shifted from basic livestock to commodities farming as a result of cooperatives. Farmers are guaranteed of product output, are not concerned about completed pig stock, and are unconcerned about price swings.
According to Mr Ha The Nhien, the cooperative offers more than 50 tons of commercial pigs to the market each year. The cooperative has agreed to sell Muong Pa black pig goods at clean food stores in Hanoi's Hoa Binh district. During the Covid-19 epidemic, the cooperative conquered the pandemic with the help of the Mai Chau District Business Association and funding from the District Bank for Social Policy Branch, stabilizing production and business and ensuring a consistent income level for member households.
Mr Dinh Cong Su, Vice Chairman of the Hoa Binh Provincial People's Committee, recognized and praised the participation of firms and cooperatives in the OCOP Program. Mr Su stated that when a company or a cooperative is the topic of an OCOP product, the OCOP product assures high quality, is ubiquitous in the community, practical, and sustainable. OCOP goods not only make an impact - the "reputation" of companies and cooperatives in the market - but also contribute significantly to increasing the value of local traditional products in domestic and international markets.
To consistently enhance the quality and competitiveness of OCOP goods, the Hoa Binh provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has cooperated with all levels, sectors, and localities to focus on directing OCOP subjects to update and perfect their products. Quality standards management and monitoring; training assistance and technical help Focus on implementing science and technology policies for OCOP goods in the areas of science and technology research and application, intellectual property rights protection, and digital transformation in OCOP product brand management. Focus on product promotion and marketing in a variety of ways, such as participating in fairs and exhibits of OCOP goods, as well as developing storefronts to sell and introduce items in Hoa Binh City.
Hoa Binh aims to standardize 20 or more provincial OCOP products by 2022. It is projected to generate 5-star national OCOP goods from provincial OCOP products with high quality, output, and economic efficiency between 2021 and 2025, such as Cao Phong Cam, items processed from Da river fishing, and OCOP products for community tourism.
