More than 3.6 million international visitors to Vietnam in 2023

DNHN - The number of international visitors to Vietnam in April 2023 was estimated to be 984,100, up 9.9% from the previous month and 9.7 times higher than the same period in 2022, according to data from the General Statistics Office.

In the first four months of 2023, there were an estimated 3,683.7 thousand international arrivals, which is 19.2 times higher than the same period last year but still only 61.7% higher than the same period in 2019. An outbreak of COVID-19 occurred.
The tourism industry aims to welcome 110 million tourists in 2023, including approximately 8 million international visitors and approximately 102 million domestic tourists. The total revenue from tourism amounted to approximately 650 billion VND.
According to tourism businesses, the target of 8 million international visitors is within reach, given that Vietnam's peak tourism season is still to come.
According to the CEO of Vietfoot Travel, Vietnam's visa policy will be loosened shortly, which will increase international tourists' demand for Vietnam tourism.
In the first four months of the year, the number of visitors to Vietnam continued to be led by Korea, with 1 million arrivals, followed by the United States (263,000 arrivals). China rose to the number three spot (252,000 hits).
At its meeting in May 2023, the National Assembly will consider adopting a resolution on new visa and entry and exit policies, including the possibility of extending the maximum 30-year duration of e-visas. date up to 90 days, valid once or multiple times; issue electronic visas to citizens of all nations and territories; Extension of temporary stay for visa-free visitors from 15 to 45 days. This will be a significant factor in attracting international tourists to Vietnam shortly.
