DNHN - Welcome the 12th National Youth Union Congress organized by the Liaison Board of Former Union Officials organized by Vietnamese youth in the South
Dr. Le Hong Liem, former Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Economic Committee and current Head of the Liaison Committee of the VFF, this is the action plan for 2023 of the Liaison Committee of the VFF with the theme "Live forever at the age of 20" – The way forward. The purpose of the activity is to create a "string" to connect the former unions, and it also has significance in "spreading the fire" during the youth month of 2023.
"Although many of us are elderly as a result of generations of union cadres, some of us are 70, 80, or 90 years old, when participating in this program we are still youthful, with the same zeal as our age. 20. We will continue to forge patriotic traditions for young people and build a prosperous, prosperous, and prosperous nation by steadfastly adhering to the path chosen by Uncle Ho and our party. After 5 years of operation, the Liaison Committee of the Vietnam Women's Youth Union has gathered more than 500 brothers and sisters who have risen through the ranks of the union in numerous economic, political, and social fields. Mr. Liem said.
At the beginning of the "Live forever in your twenties" journey, the delegation visited and interacted with the youth and leaders of Binh Thuan province through activities such as the performance of songs by former unions. The Way We Walk, Gac Ma - The Immortal Circle, Live Forever at 20 Years of Age, Aspirations for the Far Away, Songs of Former Cadres of the Union... In Binh Thuan, the Communication Committee of the VFF provided gifts to the children of martyrs' families as well as a bookcase for poor, academically-inclined students.
The Liaison Committee of the Southern Vietnam Youth Union organized an incense offering and memorial service for the martyr Gac Ma at the "Immortal Circle" monument in Cam Lam, Khanh Hoa province. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor established the memorial website to honor the heroes and martyrs who died defending Gac Ma Island (March 14, 1988).
The incense offering delegation consists of over 300 individuals, including provincial leaders, VCSC delegates, and provincial youth representatives.
During the ceremony of offering incense and flowers, the delegates were moved as they recalled the time 35 years ago, on March 14, 1988, when soldiers of the Vietnamese people's navy constructed the islands of Gac Ma and Truong Sa in Vietnam. The Chinese army attacked unexpectedly. On Vietnam's Gac Ma island in the Truong Sa archipelago, 64 naval officers and soldiers heroically gave their lives to defend the island.
Mr. Dang Ngoc Tung, a former member of the Party Central Committee and former president of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, recalled, "To have such a large memorial place for soldiers today is the result of a tremendous effort by Party and state leaders, as well as the enthusiastic material and intellectual support of Vietnamese labor union members." When watching the wreaths float, I am reminded of the memorials at sea, where the eyes of our soldiers stare at us, imploring us to act. You have no place to which you can return. We urge you to request that all levels and branches of government support the construction of this memorial. This location is now very prestigious and a tourist destination. Khanh Hoa is not only a place to visit but also a place to educate the younger generation, especially students entering the union age, about patriotic tradition. I have the same intent today. Mr. Tung was generous.
Several delegates at the incense-offering ceremony remarked that, despite having visited this memorial numerous times, each time they return they are profoundly moved. The heroic sacrifices of the martyrs are shining examples for the younger generations of Vietnam to inherit and promote, realizing their responsibility to contribute to building a strong Vietnam; preserving and cultivating the traditions of their ancestors, and guarding every square inch of land and sovereignty over the sea and islands.
The Union of Contact Committees of the VNFF met with officers and soldiers of Brigade 146, Region 4 of the Navy; The delegation gave gifts to soldiers of Brigade 146 (Spratly Doan); awarded 20 scholarships to study promotion, 1 gift to the family of martyr Gac Ma; awarded study promotion bookcases to Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School and Cam Nghia 2 Primary School.
