Ho Chi Minh City to host an array of cultural and sporting events for the New Year

DNHN - Over the next New Year holiday, Ho Chi Minh City will celebrate the New Year with a variety of festivities, including street decorations, athletic competitions, cultural and artistic performances, and fireworks displays.
According to Bui Xuan Duc, head of the Department of Ceremonies and Events under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, who revealed the information at a socio-economic press conference on the afternoon of December 21, the city will welcome locals and visitors with a variety of vibrant cultural and sporting events during the 2024 New Year holiday.
Ho Chi Minh City is set to host an array of events to ring in the New Year, including fireworks, artistic and cultural performances, athletic competitions, and street decorations.

Two venues are listed for the firework displays: one at Thu Duc City's Saigon River Tunnel will have 1,500 high-altitude fireworks, 30 low-altitude sets, and 10 pyrotechnic sets. There are 90 low-altitude sets and 30 pyrotechnic sets at the other location, which is at Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11). Funded by socialised sources, the event will take place on January 1, 2024, from 0:00 to 0:15 for 15 minutes.
Additionally, Mr. Duc gave details regarding the planning of the Countdown celebration in District 1's Nguyen Hue Walking Street.

On December 30 and 31, there will be artistic and cultural events in several parts of the city, such as Thu Duc City, District 12, Tan Phu District, the Youth Cultural House, the student residence area, export processing zones, and industrial parks.
Furthermore, Ho Chi Minh City is set to host an array of athletic events, including a cycling race on Mai Chi Tho Boulevard, a marathon, and a martial arts festival. Lastly, to create a lively environment for the impending holiday season, the city will also embellish the main thoroughfares with decorative lights.
