Hanoi businesses create nearly 400 job opportunities for people with disabilities

On April 16, the Hanoi Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, in coordination with the city’s Association for the Disabled, organised a job fair to recruit people with disabilities, to create job opportunities for this group.

Nguyen Tay Nam, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, said that Hanoi currently has about 112,171 people with disabilities, of whom 7,704 are capable of working. Many people with disabilities have risen to become owners of production and business establishments, demonstrating their perseverance and determination.

Supporting employment for people with disabilities not only benefits individuals but also contributes to social development. This is an activity with profound humanitarian significance.

According to the Organising Committee, this job fair had a total of 1,117 recruitment targets, of which the demand for general labourers accounted for the largest proportion, with 602 targets (53.9%).

From 11 businesses and vocational training institutions, there were 386 recruitment targets for people with disabilities. The fields with recruitment needs include business - marketing, sewing workers, handicraft workers, technical staff, electronics, etc.

In terms of income, business, management, and supervisory positions can reach from over 10 million to 15 million VND/month, while positions such as accountants, office workers, and technical staff can have incomes from over 7 million to 10 million VND/month, depending on the experience and expertise of the worker.
