DNHN - Green growth is a critical component of sustainable development; it is a process of development that combines socioeconomic development and environmental protection in a close, reasonable, and harmonious manner.
At the 2022 Vietnam Development Bridge Forum, Dr Ta Dinh Thi, Member of the 15th National Assembly, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, said that the National Assembly's resolutions on socio-economic development in the period 2021 - 2025, the views and cross-cutting goals of the Party and State are to ensure fast and sustainable economic growth and to restructure the economy in association with renovating the growth model towards ensuring macroeconomic stability.

Increase productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness through the application of science, technology, and high-quality human resources; utilize the country's potential and advantages. Additionally, place a premium on environmental protection, successfully respond to climate change, and contribute to the economy's resilience.
Vietnam's goal in this period is to achieve an average 5-year GDP growth rate of about 6.5 - 7%, the digital economy to reach about 20% of GDP; the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates is 28-30%; 100% of establishments causing serious environmental pollution are completely treated; the rate of collection and treatment of urban solid waste must meet standards and regulations at 90%; forest coverage rate is not lower than 42%.
According to Dr Ta Dinh Thi, to meet the National Assembly's objectives, the prerequisites of "Resource convergence" and transition to a “Green growth” model must be met in the context of safe adaptation, adaptability, and effective epidemic management. Covid-19 is a long-term radical solution aimed at enhancing the country's economic resilience and sustainable growth.
"Particularly recently, despite the benefits, our country continues to face several obstacles and challenges; the new context also imposes numerous urgent requirements on both the globe and Vietnam. Concentrate on solving and responding; failing to do so will directly impact the pace and quality of recovery, growth, and development ", he stated emphatically. "It is precisely this setting that motivates us to be determined, hashastense transition from awareness to action, and operate tirelessly in pursuit of the goals we have established".
Green growth is a critical component of sustainable development; it is a process of development that combines socioeconomic development and environmental protection in a close, reasonable, and harmonious manner.
Particularly given the urgency of achieving many objectives while rapidly recovering the socio-economic system from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, while also responding to climate change and fostering growth.
Numerous countries and regions throughout the world have suggested or implemented Green Economic Agreements (Green Deals) to change the economic paradigm toward green growth.
