DNHN - Mr Bui Quang Thai, Director of the Department of Construction and Quality Management of Traffic Works (Department of Construction Management & Quality Control - Ministry of Transport), after the Ministry of Transport approved the investment project of 12/12 component projects and assigned the PMUs to be the projects' investors, the 12/12 project is now in the implementation phase.
To date, the PMU has provided dossiers of requirements for design consultation bidding packages for all component projects, with the consulting contractor selection results likely to be approved by July 31, 2022. On August 8, 2022, the My Thuan Project Management Board is scheduled to ratify the outcomes of the consulting contractor selection.

12/12 component projects also received a written report on the comprehensive implementation status of the survey, technical design, and estimated start date of construction at the end of 2022.
The PMUs lead the consulting units to coordinate the survey and technical design work, collaborate with the area on construction material mines and trash dumps, and decide the pricing of building materials for the project.
Mr Thai stated that currently, 6/12 projects have been completed in the field (Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Vung Ang - Bung, Bung - Van Ninh, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh); 6/12 projects are being implemented, including Van Ninh - Cam Lo (reaching 97 per cent), Quang Ngai - Hoa (reached 78 per cent).
2/12 component projects have finished asset inventory on land (Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang); 10/12 projects are still underway: Vung Ang - Bung (82.5 per cent), Bung - Van Ninh (86.5 per cent), Van Ninh - Cam Lo (21.4 per cent), Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon (60 per cent), Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon (70.6 per cent), Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh (42.2 per cent), Chi Thanh - Van Phong (41 per cent), Van Phong - Nha Trang (37 per cent), Can Tho - (78 per cent).
Mr Bui Quang Thai stated the project execution outcomes are mostly by the needed plan. However, the implementation time for contractor selection, technical design, and project start-up is a little over 4 months, even though the workload is still quite heavy.
Faced with difficulties in project implementation, the Department of Construction Management and Traffic Quality proposed that the Ministry of Transport direct the project management boards based on Government Resolution 18 to allow the simultaneous implementation of procedures to shorten the time to carry out the work urgently to select the contractor to consult the technical design step.
PMUs 2, 85, 7, and My Thuan worked directly with communities to synthesize capital requirements for site clearance.
The project management boards of the Ho Chi Minh, 85, 7, and My Thuan roads collaborate with the People's Committees of the provinces of Quang Tri, Phu Yen, Can Tho, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, and Ca Mau to allocate subproject investors to local authorities.
To guarantee overall progress, the PMUs must quickly prepare the comprehensive schedule for each design segment and each work as a foundation for progress monitoring, assessment, and approval at each level.
