Extending the deadline for paying excise tax on locally produced or assembled automobiles

DNHN - On May 24, the General Department of Taxation (Ministry of Finance) issued dispatch No. 06/CD-TCT instructing the local Tax Departments and units under the General Department to extend the tax payment deadline.

According to Official Dispatch No. 06/CD-TCT, the Government enacted Decree No. 32/2022/ND-CP on May 21, extending the deadline for paying excise tax on domestically made or assembled automobiles from May 21, 2022, to December 31, 2022.

Consequently, Decree 32/2022/ND-CP extends the tax payment deadline for the payable special consumption tax amount for the tax periods of June, July, August, and September 2022 for automobiles produced and assembled domestically.

The extension period extends from the expiration of the deadline for paying excise tax by the law on tax administration to the end of the 20th of November, 2022. The deadline for requesting to extend the payment date for the special consumption tax is November 20, 2022.

The General Department of Taxation has requested that the Department of Taxation expeditiously extend the deadline for paying excise tax on domestically manufactured or assembled automobiles, by the provisions of Decree No. 32/2022/ND-CP, to continue removing obstacles to production and business and to assist those affected by the Covid-19 epidemic under the direction of the Government.
