Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Nguyen Vu Tung affirmed that, along with the significant increase in the number of Vietnamese workers in the Republic of Korea, the work of consulting and supporting workers is also carried out systematically and increasingly effectively and practically. The Ambassador said that the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea always accompanies and coordinates with labour support centres to find solutions to strengthen the provision of information, advice and support to employees in a practical way. quality, effective and comprehensive.

Over the past time, the Labour Management Board has actively coordinated with the Korean authorities to well implement the agreements between the two governments, advising to solve arising problems to ensure the best rights for workers.

In particular, the Management Board has coordinated with relevant units, especially the system of Foreign Workers Support Centres to advise and provide practical information and support for workers during their time of living and working in Korea.

Counselling and support for employees has been carried out methodically and systematically with the proactive updating of new guidelines and regulations of the Korean Government related to foreign workers to promptly inform Vietnamese workers through different channels.

The Labour Management Board has set up a hotline to directly advise employees during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic; closely coordinate with Foreign labour Support Centres, Fisheries Associations, fishing vessel agents, and business representatives to send crew members to promptly advise and support workers upon request; regularly organize visits, meetings and encouragements for local labour community groups to promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of employees and assist in solving arising problems, including support for post-mortem settlement.

At the seminar, representatives of foreign labour support centres discussed consulting for workers, common issues related to salary, salary debt, job relocation, insurance regime, etc. dangerous for workers. The exchange contents of the centres focused on the receipt of pension insurance for employees, the issuance of foreigner's identity card for some special cases. Officials of the Korean National Pension Insurance Agency and the Immigration Agency exchanged and answered questions.

This is the first seminar that attracts most of the Foreign Worker Support Centers in Korea to attend and share information. This is also an opportunity for centers to share operating models to support foreign workers living and working in Korea, thereby contributing to improving the efficiency of supporting Vietnamese workers.
