Binh Duong to Launch the First Agricultural Export Train to China in 2024

DNHN - The choice of Binh Duong to host the departure ceremony for this international intermodal train is of great significance. Binh Duong is located in the southeastern region and is one of the most dynamic localities in the south.
On 21 February at Song Than Station (Di An City, Binh Duong), the Vietnam Railways Corporation held a ceremony to launch the first international intermodal train in the Year of the Dragon 2024.
This train will transport agricultural exports from Song Than Station to Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China. There are a total of 21 carriages, including 9 refrigerated containers carrying fruit and food. The estimated time from Song Than to Zhengzhou is 9 to 10 days. The Vietnam Railways Corporation plans to operate one train per week.

Binh Duong is located in the southeastern region and is one of the most dynamic localities in the south, with a synchronously developed transport infrastructure and modern connections to other means of transport.
Song Than International Intermodal Station is the largest freight station in the south and is being upgraded and renovated to increase its freight transport capacity. After the completion of the upgrade projects, Song Than Station is expected to become the largest freight hub in the Vietnamese railway system, with a capacity of up to 3.5 million tonnes per year in the 2025-2030 period.
Previously, on 27 September 2023, the Vietnam Railways Corporation, in coordination with the Binh Duong Provincial Customs Department, launched an international intermodal train to transport export goods from Song Than Station to China and vice versa.
