DNHN - Mr. Pham Van Bay, Deputy Director of the Vietravel Hanoi Branch, stated that airline prices are "a bit unfair" during the peak of the holiday season (30/4-1/5), as well as the anniversary of Hung King's death.
The "Vietnam International Tourism Fair 2023" takes place in Hanoi from April 13 to April 17 and attracts hundreds of travel and tourism businesses. All businesses offer products, particularly package products (combos), for domestic and international tourists at reasonable prices.
Considering the high airfare prices during the holidays of April 30 to May 1 and the anniversary of Hung King's death, visitors who purchase these packages will save a substantial amount of money.
According to Ms. Nguyen Hoai Thu, Deputy Director of Saigontourist's Travel Branch in Hanoi, under the theme of cultural tourism, Saigontourist brings to the fair a variety of rich and distinctive goods.
Saigontourist expands travel packages in collaboration with airlines and 5-star hotel partners to provide visitors with a variety of options. The prices are significantly lower than self-booked flights and hotels. In light of the upcoming holiday's high airfare costs, visitors can save money by booking a travel package.
Currently, Saigontourist sells numerous luxury tours to South and North America departing between September and December 2023. The product bundles introduced at the trade show not only serve customers during the holidays and summer but also throughout the year; customers can receive discounts based on their plans.
Due to the holiday from April 30 to May 1 and the approaching anniversary of the death of Hung King, the number of tourists through Saigontourist increased more than in 2022. Saigontourist has provided customers with preferential pricing, even though the air ticket included in the package is less expensive than purchasing the ticket separately.
During the summer and holidays, numerous overseas destinations attract tourists on overseas tours. Instead of overly discounted products, we guarantee service quality; for instance, we offer tours to South America, North America, and Australia. Tourist destinations can be diverse. If you purchase an Egypt tour now, you can receive a 3-4 million dong discount', said Thu.
Pham Van Bay, Deputy Director of the Vietravel Hanoi Branch, stated that if the airfare to Phu Quoc is at its peak during the holidays, it will cost between VND 7-8 million. The comparison of 30/4 to 1/5 is somewhat unfair to airlines.
Typically, airlines offer discounted fares of only 2 to 3 million VND, a reduction of 60 percent compared to peak travel periods. Therefore, according to Mr. Bay, tourists must have a more balanced perspective.
Many international routes have recently reopened. Domestic frequencies are also being reduced; for example, the number of flights to Da Nang has decreased from ten to five or six. So is Phu Quoc. Supply and demand slightly increase ticket prices. If we plan for six months to a year, visitors will be able to obtain an affordable air ticket or tour.
