Vietnamese businesswoman awarded Visionary CEO of the Year

DNHN - Labor Hero, Ms. Thai Huong, has been recognized as the Visionary CEO of the Year, a prestigious accolade highlighting her exceptional leadership and unwavering contributions to green and circular economies grounded in sustainable development.

With relentless contributions to the development of green economy, knowledge economy, and circular economy on the foundation of sustainable development, Labor Hero Thai Huong, in her roles as Chairwoman of the Strategic Council of TH Group, CEO of Bac A Bank, and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council, is the sole leader awarded the Visionary CEO of the Year – Outstanding Visionary Leader.

On May 4, 2024, global leaders and entrepreneurs gathered in Bangkok, Thailand, for the highly anticipated annual awards ceremony organized by Global Brands Magazine (UK). 

This event honored notable figures like Elon Musk (Tesla) as Visionary Leader in the Automotive Industry and Satya Nadella (Microsoft) as Best CEO in Cloud Computing and AI. In the Middle East, Peter Richards (Gulftainer) received the Visionary Leader award in Ports and Aviation. Ms. Thai Huong was the only leader awarded the Visionary CEO of the Year in Asia, while her company, TH Group, was recognized as Asia's Leading Beverage and Food Company.

During the period of 2023-2024, Ms. Thai Huong's relentless efforts were recognized in advancing sustainable economic models, knowledge economy, and circular economy within TH Group, a company she founded 15 years ago. By 2024, TH Group had become a model of sustainable development, pioneering contributions to green economy, circular economy, and knowledge economy in Vietnam. The enterprise has led a revolution in clean fresh milk and nutritional advancements for the Vietnamese by increasing the processed milk ratio from pure fresh milk from 8% (in 2008, before TH entered the market) to 60% by 2023.

Ms. Thai Huong's projects consistently implement a comprehensive sustainable development strategy based on six pillars: Nutrition-health, Environment, Education, People, Community, and Animal Welfare. She was honored by the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) as one of "17 Faces of Sustainable Development Actions in Vietnam" in 2023. She was also the first and only representative from Vietnam recognized by CSRWorks International in the Top 10 “Women for Sustainable Development” list in Asia in 2021.

Previously, Forbes' financial magazine voted her into the Top 50 powerful Asian businesswomen for several consecutive years due to her transformative impact on the dairy industry in Vietnam. She has also been the only Vietnamese businesswoman honored with notable achievements for community contributions in Dubai (UAE), the Powerful Women Entrepreneur Award at the World Knowledge Forum (WKF), and the Outstanding Businesswoman Stevie Awards…

In 2023, as the head of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association and Founder of TH Group, she advised on sustainable agriculture development projects in Northwest, Western Nghe An, and Central Highlands, revitalizing forests, conserving and exploiting native herbs to help local communities develop economically, eradicate poverty, and preserve the environment - providing clean water sources and ecosystems for the entire community. Her successful sustainable development models continue to be replicated with major projects in the Russian Federation and Australia.

Against the backdrop of COP28 in 2023, Vietnam continued its commitment alongside 147 countries worldwide to achieve net-zero emissions by mid-century. Vietnamese enterprises, with TH Group at the forefront, are striving to support the government in achieving this goal. Thai Huong has steered TH Group to become a prominent player in Vietnam's high-tech agriculture sector, pioneering the establishment of a green production system and sustainable economy. From conceptualization to implementation, from management to execution, TH focuses on three activities: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, transitioning to green and renewable energy sources, and sequestering greenhouse gases. Continuously implementing initiatives, TH Group has set targets to reduce direct greenhouse gas emissions at farms and factories by an average of 15% per year within the scope of direct greenhouse gas emissions. The goal is also to reduce the total greenhouse gas emissions per unit of product at TH's factories and farms by an average of 15% per year.

Global Brands Awards is a prestigious awards system established by Global Brands Magazine in 2013, in collaboration with international data analysis firms, to independently evaluate brands. Since its inception, it has assessed and researched approximately 18,000 companies and brands annually across various sectors including finance, technology, services, and more. The awards follow a rigorous 6-step evaluation process: National nominations, receipt of candidate applications, internal committee review, preliminary nominee selection for independent analysis, evaluation committee ranking and reporting, and finally, the announcement of award recipients. The annual award ceremonies are held ceremoniously at prominent locations worldwide.
