Vietnam spends USD 50 billion on computer, electronic, and component imports

DNHN - The import-export group with the highest turnover in the country is computers, electronic devices, and components. In general, the turnover of this group of commodities reached more than 50.1 billion USD in the first seven months of the year, a 25.2% rise over the same period the previous year, and accounted for 23.13 per cent of overall import turnover in the country.

According to the General Department of Customs, the government spent about $6.9 billion importing computers, electronic equipment, and components in July alone, a 2.3% increase over the previous month.

Asia's key import markets include China, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan... To summarize, four primary markets contribute to 79.75% of the total import turnover of computers, electrical equipment, and components.

China leads with 14.64 billion USD, accounting for 29.22% of the market and a 25.56% increase over the same time the previous year.

Korea is in second place with 14.33 billion USD, accounting for 28.6% of the market, an increase of about 37%; the following positions: Taiwan's market reached 6.98 billion USD, accounting for 13.93% of the total, up 35.8%; Japan's market reached more than 4.05 billion USD, accounting for 8% of the total, up 34.55%.

By the end of July, however, exports of computers, electronic equipment, and components had reached $31.72 billion, a 14.8% increase over the same period last year.

As a result, the group of computers, electronic items, and components had a trade imbalance of more than 18 billion USD at the end of July.
