DNHN - On September 18, an investment promotion conference was held between Di Linh district (Lam Dong) and the VIENC International Corporate Club's business delegation from Ho Chi Minh City. The conference intends to recruit and solicit investment in major district projects.
Mr Dinh Van Tuan, Secretary of the Di Linh Area Party Committee, stated at the start of the conference that Di Linh is a hilly district in the Central Highlands with a lot of potential and resources for investment and development. The natural terrain here is stunning, making it ideal for tourism development in regions such as Kala Lake, Brah Yang Mountain, 7-story waterfall, Tul waterfall, and the planned and implemented infrastructure of Gia Hiep and Tam Bo industrial clusters. Agriculture is the district's strength since it specializes in farming various valuable industrial crops such as coffee, macadamia, pepper, and fruit trees such as durian, avocado, and so on. Furthermore, it is suitable for the cultivation of a wide range of crops, including flowers, mulberries, and other vegetables. As a result, it will be a significant raw material region for the growth of the processing sector...
One of Lam Dong province's important goals is to attract large investors to invest in the development of urban areas, residential areas, amusement parks - large-scale sightseeing in potential areas of Di Linh district; connecting tourist routes to transship passengers and goods between Lam Dong and the Central Highlands, South Central, East, and Southeast provinces. Furthermore, the municipality will establish digital infrastructure, data and digital platforms, complete the land database, and publicise planned...
Accelerate the development process such that Di Linh town meets the standards for a grade IV city by 2025. By 2030, Di Linh will be one of Lam Dong province's most important socioeconomic zones. The infrastructure system will be finished in all fields by 2050, completing the criteria for transforming the Di Linh district into a town. Lam Dong allocates resources from the province and district budgets to invest in, renovate, and build inter-regional linking highways and ring roads to generate motivation for Di Linh to grow holistically.
According to Mr Dinh Vinh Cuong, Chairman of International Entrepreneurs Club (VIENC) and Chairman of Yamato 365 Group Company, Yamato 365 Company is a logistics organization that purchases high-quality agricultural goods for export, mainly coffee and durian. He pays farmers more than the market price for coffee that satisfies the "clean coffee" requirement. He also suggested that farmers in the Di Linh district adjust their thinking about organic farming so that their goods are qualified for export to demanding markets with high economic value, such as Japan. Japan, Korea, the EU...
Mr Cuong stated that during his stay in Japan, he saw many Japanese farmers get wealthy from their agricultural goods, which were sold at extremely high rates since they could fulfil the demands of customers. Food safety requirements are stringent. Japanese farmers' attitude is "create the best product," not "produce items that sell quickly." Mr Cuong discovered that durian processing facilities in the Di Linh area were still primitive throughout the survey procedure.
Furthermore, Mr Cuong suggested that the authorities, businesses, and farmers collaborate to create their brand for durian fruit of the district "Di Linh Durian" to register the trademark, planting area code, and geographical indication for durian fruit so that buyers can easily trace the origin later. Mr Cuong also mentioned his ambition to develop a durian processing facility in Di Linh district using contemporary and sophisticated technologies. In addition to raw durian, several processed durian products are available, such as dried durian, durian jam, durian coffee, and so on.
Mr Cuong also plans to construct a Logistics Center (cold storage) to store fresh, processed, and canned items for export. Regarding cold storage, Mr Cuong stated that minus 40-degree technology would be used, which can keep durian fruits for 2-3 years, and that Organic coffee may be purchased from this Logistics Warehouse. VIENC will invite American and Japanese specialists to educate farmers in producing coffee and durian according to Organic standards through 45 agricultural production cooperatives in the Di Linh district.
Speaking at the Conference, Assoc. Tran Dinh Thien - Economist, and a member of the Government Advisory Group, stated that the "context of the times" is the reason Di Linh has not attracted many investors at the moment. The distance is short, but the route is in poor condition, narrow, and inconvenient. Mr Thien stated that in the past, Ninh Thuan only had sunshine and wind, so it was advantageous to create solar power, and Quang Binh naturally has numerous caverns, so it is advantageous. Cave tourism is also popular.
"Di Linh's economic scale is small, the number of small businesses is low, the income per capita is low, the value of land must be converted into economic value, large-scale enterprises must be invited to create position and force to develop, resulting in many other businesses coming in to follow "the nest to welcome the Eagle." District leaders must examine the benefits in the context of "New Age Trends" for them to be real in nature. Mr Thien defined practical advantage as "competitive advantage" rather than "potential advantage."
In addition to examining the district's weaknesses, Assoc. Tran Dinh Thien presented several development-oriented alternatives for the Di Linh district. Specifically, the district must create strategies to attract and engage investors that are consistent with the district's capabilities. Large investors typically approach the province, making it inconvenient for the district. The district needs to aggressively seek investment in its current strengths. Simultaneously, Di Linh district must proactively propose to Lam Dong province about "taste," acceptable investor requirements for the province to develop policies toward suitable investors, with an accessible value chain to produce a synergistic benefit. Mr Thien and the district have committed to work together to connect with investors to establish agricultural processing factories suited for local important goods.
Mr Tran Duy Khiem, Vice President of VIENC Club, examined the strength of 90,000 hectares of forest land in Di Linh as a resource fit for the global trend of carbon credit exchange at the conference. Mr Khiem advised that Di Linh District do an in-depth study on participating in the Carbon Credit Exchange that would be launched shortly, citing the usual example of Tesla Electric Vehicle Corporation selling Carbon Credits.
Mr Mai Nhu Trinh, Vice President of VIENC Club, boldly claimed that he wanted to invest in the local essential oil industry because he already had experience and an ecosystem. If the community is interested in attracting and supporting enterprises, many businesses will be comparable to those who come and see opportunities in Di Linh's prospective land.
Mr Nguyen Van Lap, Representative of the Enterprise and Integration Magazine VPPN, stated at the conference: Di Linh is a fertile basaltic territory with numerous benefits in agricultural growth, as well as a major coffee area. The province covers 45,000 hectares, with more than 9,000 hectares intercropped with fruit trees, making it ideal for cultivating medicinal plants with great economic potential. Furthermore, Di Linh is a territory with an average elevation of 1,000 meters above sea level, a pleasant environment all year (with an average temperature of around 23 degrees Celsius), numerous gorgeous sceneries, and natural waterfalls. As a result, it is ideal for the development of resort tourism and medical tourism, which may entice Japanese and Korean enterprises to engage in this industry.
At the same time, Mr Lap suggested that the Di Linh district strengthen its efforts to attract businesses to invest in agricultural export processing factories and logistics warehouses to assist farmers in purchasing high-priced products because products with processing, the ability to export to demanding markets such as Japan, Korea, and the EU... will be easier to accept than fresh agricultural products and raw agricultural products.
Mr Tran Duc Cong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Di Linh district, concluded the conference by saying: "Currently, Di Linh district focuses on calling for investment in four primary sectors, including agriculture; industry; tourism, services, and culture - society." In particular, the Di Linh district will prioritize units investing in agricultural production areas and trades with high technology applications, advanced technical technology applications, infrastructure building, and agricultural infrastructure, commodity-oriented agricultural product production; afforestation and forest preservation; medicinal plant cultivation; cattle and poultry production; livestock and poultry feed processing area.
Priority should be given in the industrial sector to attracting investment in the agricultural product processing business; developing trades and sectors that use high technology, clean technology, and are environmentally friendly.
In the realm of tourism and services, municipalities prioritize investment in tourist infrastructure, manufacturing of handcraft goods for tourists, and local speciality products. Simultaneously, towards socialization in the areas of education, training, and vocational training; medicine; culture and sport; and the environment.
To successfully implement investment attraction, the Di Linh district People's Committee created an investment promotion and support working group to gather information dossiers on the list of investment attraction projects and prepare investment manuals. Di Linh district has also recognized and re-evaluated the outcomes of luring projects on the list of projects asking for investment from 2016 to 2020 to gain experience for the building of the province's new investment project portfolio from 2021 to 2025.
The VIENC Club was founded on February 4, 2022. VIENC's mission is as follows: CONNECTING (Networking): Bringing together high-quality enterprises and entrepreneurs from across the world. SHARE: Disseminate information on business/cooperation/investment possibilities. LEVEL UP: Improve enterprise management capability, and improve lifestyle.
