DNHN - This collection of unique handbags crafted from eagle grass by the artisans of the Green West Company Limited was unveiled in Can Tho on the evening of 1 May 2023.
Eagle grass is a type of grass that Westerners commonly refer to as an eagle. The scientific name of this plant is Lepironia articulate, and it is most prevalent in the provinces of Tien Giang (Phu My, Tan Phuoc), Long An (Duc Hoa, Duc Hue, Ben Luc, Thu Thua, Moc Hoa, Vinh Hung...), An Giang, Kien Giang,... Bang grass is distinguished by the fact that it is a herbaceous species with a spherical body, hollow intestines, and clumped roots that, when measured with the tip of a chopstick, range from 1.3-2 m in height and resemble a strabismus tree. sedge) or fenugreek, but the sedge is larger, stiffer, longer, and blooms continuously throughout the year.

Mr. Bui Van Duoc - Director of Mien Tay Xanh Co., Ltd (Long An) hopes that this will be a one-of-a-kind souvenir for tourists to remember the kind and generous West when they visit this location for sightseeing. This collection of handbags made from eagle grass is elaborately and meticulously crafted by the company's artisans according to a special design. Eagle grass embodies the natural beauty of the Mekong Delta's inhabitants and is an extremely eco-friendly product. To create handbags that were both luxurious and sophisticated, the artisans had to go through eight steps to successfully assemble the details on the new basket to create the ideal finished product.

At the launch event, more than 20 models of handbags knitted from eagle grass were gathered, performed by the graceful ladies of the Western trio and the traditional ao dai of the country. The artisans have invested a great deal of time and care into imbuing each product, from the most basic to the most luxurious, with a story, a meaning, and a singular purpose. The grass bags have strong associations with preserving cultural values and are eco-friendly. On the other hand, it is not inferior to branded "black model" bags for urban girls and can help foreigners understand more about the country's traditional industries.

In the past, people in the Mekong Delta harvested grass to make items such as knitted cushions, hats, packaging, and thatched roofs... Today, the grass is as robust as the primary thing. the way it lives and endures forever. Parallel development occurred during the period of integration. In some rural areas, the craft of making hats, cushions, and handbags is still practiced. The products are highly marketable both domestically and internationally. Eagle grass is also used to create straws and cup handles in place of conventional plastic wrap; these products are extremely safe, practical, and environmentally friendly.

Mien Tay Xanh Co., Ltd. will coordinate with Mekong Long Ngan Investment Trading Service Co., Ltd. in May 2023 to sign a cooperation agreement to distribute high-end products for Muong Thanh Hotel.
