Strengthening Vietnam - India relations to grow stronger and deeper

DNHN - Over the years, the reciprocal visits between Vietnam and India have strengthened the bilateral relationship, and the numerous cooperative activities between the two countries have significantly impacted each nation's economic and social development.
The Vietnam - India Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City (a member of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Ho Chi Minh City) and the Institute of Social Sciences in the Southern region have collaborated to organize a scientific conference titled "Vietnam - India traditional relations. past and present." This conference is a continuation of events commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India.

Participants included experts from the Southern Institute of Social Sciences, the Institute of Indian and Southwest Asian Studies - Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the University of Ho Chi Minh City's Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and experts and scientists, and managers. Associate Professor Dr. Vu Tuan Hung, Deputy Director of the Southern Institute of Social Sciences, Dr. Do Viet Ha, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, and Dr. Huynh Thanh Lap, Chairman of the Vietnam - India Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, presided over the workshop.
Participants at the workshop centered their discussions on the potential, resources, and strengths of Vietnam and India to open the door to a future of extensive cooperation. The study and recognition of the relationship over time play a crucial role in strategic planning, as it contributes to clarifying and strengthening the positive relationship between the two nations during the development process. International cooperation, people-to-people diplomacy, and sustainable development strategies and plans for the two countries.

Huynh Thanh Lap, the chairman of the Vietnam - India Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, asserted that the relationship between Vietnam and India has a long and distinguished history. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on January 7, 1972, India and Vietnam have always assisted one another, and in September 2016 they upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. The two nations are actively implementing the strategic partnership action plan for the period 2021-2023.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Lap wished that the workshop would contribute to enhancing the efficacy of people-to-people exchanges, deepening the friendship between the two countries, increasing their trade volume to more than $15 billion, and enhancing bilateral exchanges. Exchange students and scholarship programs increase cultural exchanges and promote the country, its people, and the shared culture of the two nations.
To facilitate future people-to-people diplomacy between the two countries, Dr. Huynh Thanh Loan of the Institute of Indian and Southwest Asian Studies stated that cultural exchange, education, and other fields must be fostered. Vietnam must strengthen the Vietnam - India Friendship Association and its local member associations by attracting the participation of businesses, students, and scientific and historical researchers to establish a network of relationships and connections between domestic people's organizations and Indian individuals and organizations...
