As a native fish species harvested from the natural environment, pangasius is now a key export product for Vietnam's seafood industry. 60-65% of the pangasius value chain is comprised of aqua feed, which plays a crucial and essential role. Sao Mai Super Feed was born from the pioneering achievement of closing the Pangasius value chain under the "3F" (Feed - Farm - Food) model, based on a well-invested, large-scale, and interconnected industrial cluster. Feed factories, livestock farms, processing plants, and distribution systems to customers and consumers are interdependent. This represents a significant milestone in the closed production process of the local pangasius industry, thereby bolstering the development and sustainable orientation of Vietnam's pangasius industry on the global market.
When the Covid epidemic is under control, the domestic production and export of pangasius enter a period of recovery and growth. Consequently, international markets have also become available for the import and export of aquatic products. Shrimp and pangasius are the two most important exports of Vietnam and the Mekong Delta, respectively. Currently, pangasius is exported to more than 150 countries, exceeding the threshold of 1 million tonnes per year, and its export value has increased rapidly, contributing roughly 2% to the country's gross domestic product.
Aqua Feed cannot avoid the "price storm" of escalating due to the sudden increase in raw material input and the rise in oil prices, leading to the "logistics" system - the middle stage, given the current economic environment. Transportation time is crucial for delivering high-priced products to consumers and customers, placing not only businesses but also the distribution system, farmers, and households under significant economic and psychological pressure. farmers… To secure the market, retain customers, and maintain stable production, Sao Mai Super Feed has implemented several plans, investment plans, and quality improvements to become one of Vietnam's largest aqua feed factories.
Promote outsourcing, enhance product quality and brand, fortify connections with market networks, and most importantly, promote cooperation with industry leaders in the aquafeed industry; execute numerous projects. The research, testing, and development phase for producing aquafeeds with low FCR coefficients, thereby enabling farms to achieve high profits and assisting raw material products in reaching optimal standards, must meet the established criteria. European Union (EU) and United States (US) markets are notoriously demanding. With its innovative and creative strategic thinking, Sao Mai Super Feed replaced the previous "sliced noodles" with the raw material "wheat starch" during the ingredient improvement process.
With this improvement step's low FCR coefficient and high profit, the optimal level for commercial fish has been reached. Particularly, wheat starch will no longer contain "Aflatoxin" toxins, which are carcinogens that have a significant impact on the liver and kidneys and reduce immune and growth factors in fish. Thus supplementing vitamins, minerals, and nutrients, enhancing fish immunity, reducing loss-causing factors, and promoting the safe, healthy, and rapid growth of fish. Through the evaluation of numerous long-term customers, Sao Mai Super Feed's aqua feed has been determined to have a high digestibility, resulting in healthy fish growth with a beautiful, well-balanced shape and no malformations. The food pellets are uniform and attractive, and they float for an extended period in the water.
Numerous economic sectors of our country have developed over the course of many years as a result of the "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods" campaign of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the "Industrialization - modernization" orientation. Outstanding growth, becoming the "spearhead" of the national economy, establishing a new strategic position, and contributing to the enhancement of Vietnam's economic competitiveness in the region. Vietnam's seafood export industry in general and Sao Mai Super Feed stated that the export turnover of Pangasius in 2022 has far surpassed expectations, even though the current economic environment still poses numerous potential challenges. With the well-known "slogan": "Not claiming to be the best product, but will be the smartest option for people." Sao Mai Super Feed has consistently asserted its "brand" in the aqua feed market, based on the breakthrough imprints and "own value system" that it has been building, fostering, and establishing.
